Nearly fifty poets and writers from Iran, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Italy, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries across continents gathered to celebrate a festival dedicated to women.

Supported and sponsored by the Kartal District Municipality of Istanbul and officially registered with UNESCO, this year’s festival featured not only poetry readings but also presentations on the living conditions and social realities of women in each poet’s homeland, making poetry a bridge for cross-cultural dialogue.

The opening ceremony was held at the Istanbul Cultural Center Auditorium. On the second day, programs continued at Yeditepe University, where poets recited their heartfelt works with deep emotion. The third day led participants into the very heart of the ancient city—a visit to the magnificent Hagia Sophia Mosque and an overlook of the Bosporus Strait connecting Europe and Asia, a moment that invited reflection on history and civilization.

The festival president, Op. Dr. Hilal Karahan, personally hosted the events, presented certificates to the attending poets, and gifted them the official anthology of this year’s festival.

The three-day journey passed swiftly. Amid warm farewells, the poets exchanged blessings and promised to reunite next year—to continue their sisterhood and the shared spirit of poetry. 诗歌节主席希拉尔·卡拉汉外科医生(Op. Dr. Hilal Karahan)
