<p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;">《战国策》</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">译 廖顺成</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">秦将伐魏。魏王闻之，夜见孟尝君，告之曰：“秦且攻魏，子为寡人谋，奈何?”孟尝君曰：“有诸侯之救，则国可存也。”王曰：“寡人愿子之行也。”重为之约车百乘。</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">The Qin State questioned war on the Wei State.</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">Hearing this,the king of Wei paid a visit to Meng Chang Jun during the night. </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“Now Qin wants to take us Wei.You should plan something to help me. What do we have to prepared?” the king of Wei told and waited. </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“The state who gets helps from vassals lives.” Meng answered. </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“Well I need your help then to persuade the vassals to come with help.”continued the king of Wei.</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">Publicly arranged war carts and men were already in front of Meng Chang Jun and hundreds of horses in between just before Meng called the way out.</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">孟尝君之赵，谓赵王曰：“文愿借兵以救魏。”赵王曰：“寡人不能。”孟尝君曰：“夫敢借兵者，以忠王也。”王曰：“可得闻乎?”孟尝君曰：“夫赵之兵，非能强于魏之兵；魏之兵，非能弱于赵也。然而赵之地不岁危而民不岁死，而魏之地岁危而民岁死者，何也?以其西为赵蔽也。今赵不救魏，魏歃盟于秦，是赵与强秦为界也，地亦且岁危，民亦且岁死矣。此文之所以忠于大王也。”赵王许诺，为赵兵十万，车三百乘。</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">The moment Meng arrived in Zhao State,he told the king of Zhao, </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“I want to borrow a troop form Zhao State”. </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“I can’t help you!”the king of Zhao replied. </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“Sudden words I mentioned here to acquire soldiers were just to make the good relationship between you my respective king.” Meng continued. </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“Well you can continue for more!” the king said.</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">Meng continued, </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“It’s not that the troops of Zhao is stronger than the troops of Wei.It’s not that the troops of Wei is weaker than the troops of Zhao. However then, the land of Zhao was not shortened by the threads from Qin while the people in Zhao were not scared by the blood from Qin when year by year the land of Wei was shortened by Qin and the blood was shed from Qin to Wei. I mean how and why it happened like this. Because Wei first met Qin in the middle position blocking ahead of you Zhao. That’s why I am making a good relationship with you king,right here and right now.”</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">The king of Zhao agreed and sent with Meng a hundred thousand soldiers in all together with three hundred war carts,longing for better conditions.</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">又北见燕王曰；“先日公子常约两王之交矣。今秦且攻魏，愿大王之救之。”燕王曰：“吾岁不熟二年矣，今又行数千里而以助魏，且奈何?”田文曰：“夫行数千里而救人者，此国之利也。今魏王出国门而望见军，虽欲行数千里而助人，可得乎?”燕王尚未许也。田文曰：“臣效便计于王，王不用臣之忠计，文请行矣。恐天下将有大变也。”王曰：“大变可得闻乎?”曰：“秦攻魏未能克之也，而台已燔，游已夺矣。而燕不救魏，魏王折节割地，以国之半与秦，秦必去矣。秦已去魏，魏王悉韩、魏之兵，又西借秦兵，以因赵之众，以四国攻燕，王且何利?利行数千里而助人乎?利出燕南门而望见军乎?则道里近而输又易矣，王何利?”燕王曰：“子行矣，寡人听子。”乃为之起兵八万，车二百乘，以从田文。</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">Apart from Zhao, Meng Chang Jun paid a visit north to the king in Yan State, </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“My father used to arrange the meeting between Yan and Wei states. Now Qin should probably attack Wei and We hope king you can help us out.” Meng spoke direct to the king of Yan. </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“Our country has not harvest what we need for the last two years. And if we should make it to help you Wei State about several thousand lis away,then how we can arrange for it?” backed with the question to Meng.</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“To help and save people through several thousand lis can bring good things to you. Now king of Wei is looking forward to the supporting troops from Yan when other vassals also want this several-thousand-li support as their good deed in hand.Can they?”Meng gave his words with a suggestion but the king of Yan still wondered not nodding his head.</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“Below as who I am,my king has listened the better suggestion but not giving sincere consideration about it. I beg to leave you my king, worring and sinking into the great changes about the whole land.” Meng tried his words again. </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“What great changes you meant just now? Can you tell something about them?” the king was interested.</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">Meng continued, </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“Now Qin is hungering Wei’s land though the city is safe.The arching platforms were burnt and the ferrying ropes were occupied. But still the king of Wei didn’t see the supporting troops from Yan and he will have to cut his land to Qin at least for a half of it. And for sure Qin will retreat his armies. For further understanding,if the battle settles and the king of Wei offers all the troops in Han and Wei State to Qin State while Zhao’s troops are already there for,my king of Yan would do what and have what good things against the four ways of power in Yan Yu city?” Meng continued, </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“Is it better than supporting Wei from several thousand lis apart?” </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“Is it better to meet the alien troops in front of Yan’s South Gate?” </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“If so the roads are convenient and the countrysides are close for the Qin’s mixed troops surrounding Yan.” The supports will be demanding and easier. Then what goodness will my king long for?” finished here Meng. </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“You should go! But I will listen to you and follow!”</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">The king of Yan State finally nodded his head with longings.And Meng got eighty thousand soldiers and two hundred war carts from Yan and they all followed Meng.</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">魏王大说，曰：“君得燕、赵之兵甚众且亟矣。”秦王大恐，割地请讲于魏。因归燕、赵之兵，而封田文。</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">The king of Wei State had his tears back and felt deeply confident about the news, </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">“How soon and that many! Jun you have brought troops of Yan and Zhao!”</p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">For this case informed to the king of Qin, he turned his face and cut off Qin’s land for Wei State just for the peace talk later. </p><p class="ql-block ql-indent-1">With all these settled down,Wei returned the troops from Yan and Zhao and awarded Meng Chang Jun with lands and trusts.</p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;">备注：</p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;">君：Jun</p>
