峨凤岭游客接待中心的右面，就是白莲教始建的泥山寨。这里远看树木繁茂、苍翠欲滴，走近山路崎岖、悬崖峭壁。艰难登上山顶白塔，四面八方一览无余，天池全湖尽收眼底。指点江山、欣赏风景，胸怀随视野而开阔、格局随天地而舒展。<br> 穿越时空隧道，历史人物郑启和的故事就发生在这里。郑启和（1891—1941），广安代市人，中国同盟会会员。他曾在20世纪20年代军阀混战时任师长（熊克武的部下），1925年离开军界，到上海办厂，见帝国主义在中国横行，爱国之心更切。“9·18”事变后，他回到广安，进行实业救国。他在天池兴办纸厂、硫磺厂、煤矿、小军工修械厂，拥有私人武装六、七千人。他打富济贫，独占一方，在他的势力范围内不准抽大烟、搞赌博，农民不交苛捐杂税，反对派粮抓丁，深得当地人民拥护。郑启和的反蒋行为引起了蒋介石的不满。1941年夏，蒋介石调集国民党军队和地方武装共4万余人围剿郑启和。战场就在泥山寨、峨凤岭一带，指挥所设在鹅峰庵。郑启和力战两月有余，最终被国民党军队包围于代市一稻田内，突围不成，自杀身亡。<br> 郑启和在华蓥山开展实业革命曾受到周恩来的支持。1940年，中共南方局和八路军驻渝办事处周恩来、董必武、叶剑英等领导同志了解到郑启和具有一定爱国主义思想和民族自尊心，积极主张抗日，反对蒋介石独裁统治的情况后，根据斗争需要，派张兴富、周建南等人在不暴露身份的前提下，到广安以搞实业为名暗中去做郑启和的工作。郑启和对这些同志的到来表示了热情欢迎。后来，党又派出了一批同志以工程技术人员身份来到郑启和处，解决了郑启和企业生产中的一些困难。郑启和和地下党联系很紧密，所开展的实业革命很有影响力。郑启和的队伍大多是代市、天池的土著山民。郑启和被围剿后，其手下人员大多成了华蓥山游击队员。<br></div>
