Shangrila Calgary Society is a non-profit organization founded in Calgary, Alberta, its objectives are to promote healthy and active life styles among seniors, women and their families, to assist those in need including new immigrants, seniors, children and people in disability, to facilitate communication, understanding and mutual support across community lines, to help building a vibrant and socially inclusive society where all Canadians enjoy a free life style and relish a sense of pride and belonging. Multi-cultural performances have been one of the most effective contributors to our success in the past couple years and will continue to help us achieve our organizational objectives in the years to come.
Xiao Ping Dance Studio was founded by Mrs. Xiaoping Yu and Mr. Xinmin Wang in 2007 who are both graduated from Beijing Dance Academy which is the most prestigious dance school in China and have worked as the professional dancers, instructors and directors in China's most famous dancing group since their graduation.
Mrs. Yu and Mr. Wang have started teaching multicultural dances in Calgary since 2007 to promote multicultural development, to enhance understanding of people among different ethical backgrounds, to promote a healthy life style in Canada and to contribute to a vibrant city life.
In recent years, the members from Xiao Ping Dance Studio have, in their spare time, actively participated in a lot of fundraising events and performances organized by different non-profit organizations in Calgary and surrounding areas, such as the fundraising performances held for Fort McMurray wildfire, the annual fundraising edition called "One-A Dance Spectacle" organized by Sparq Productions, an India Bollywood dancing group, and etc.
This time, Shangrila Calgary Society and Xiao Ping Dance Studio is presenting "Celebration 2017-We Are One" to once again bring people from different cultural backgrounds together to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary.
We particularly appreciate the support we have received from the following guest performers.
Annie Wu - Vocalist
Karen Fang - Vocalist
Emiley Yuan - Vocalist
Pearl Lu - Violinist
Lemon Wang - Erhu Performer

We look forward to celebrating with you at 7:00pm, on June 25, 2017 in Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium!
