Fitzgerald Huber'《Ancient Chinese Jades from the Grenville L. Winthrop Collection in the Fogg Art Museum,Harvard University》,劍橋,1975年,第252與256號;或台灣歷史博物館收藏的兩件例子,見於John Johnson 與陳麗碧《5,000 Years of Chinese Jade》,聖安東尼奧,2011年,第59頁,第24號。

The thin plaque fashioned in the outline of a resting goose with its head turned towards its tail. Incised lines delineate the wing, tail feathers, and eye, with additional lines forming curved and geometric patterns. The pendant is pierced through the breast below the neck. The grayish-green jade with some reddish-brown burial adhesions.

This pendant is notable for its naturalism. The outline of the pendant makes it readily identifiable as a goose. Most bird pendants depict the birds in stylized ways with fantastic crests, archaic motifs or without identifiable characteristics, such as the examples in the collection of Harvard University's Arthur M. Sackler Museum, and illustrated in Max Loehr and Louisa G. Fitzgerald Huber, Ancient Chinese Jades from the Grenville L. Winthrop Collection in the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge, 1975, nos. 252 and 256; or these two examples in the National Museum of History, Taiwan, illustrated in John Johnson and Chan Lai Pik, 5,000 Years of Chinese Jade, San Antonio, 2011, p. 59, no. 24.

文献源于:芝加哥亚洲艺术遗产博物馆

《鸟兽与礼器》
