The large ears on either side of the head depicted with pierced, stretched lobes fitted with circular rings. The hair with a pointed fringe incised with lines. The top of the head pierced through to the bottom of the neck. The green stone with patches of russet skin accenting the face's nose and chin. </p><p class="ql-block"> A Neolithic jade human head excavated from the tomb of Huang Junmeng's wife and in the collection of the Henan Provincial Museum is illustrated in Wu Hung, 1986, 'Tradition and Innovation: Ancient Chinese Jades in the Gerard Godfrey Collection', Orientations, vol. 17, no. 11, p. 40, fig. 9a. A line drawing of that same piece is illustrated in Jessica Rawson, Chinese Jade from the Neolithic to the Qing, Chicago, 2002, p. 24, fig. 8b (1). Similar examples have been dated to the Longshan period by Hayashi Minao and Wu Hung.
