Wing edges are incised with parallel lines denoting feathers, imparting rhythmic texture and a sense of dynamic spread. At the center, a small head bears vaguely human features- eyebrows, eyes, nose, and mouth-blending avian and anthropomorphic traits into a hybrid symbolic figure. The balanced, stylized composition prioritizes abstraction over naturalism. The translucent stone features soft, cloudy white inclusions, lending subtle depth and an ethereal surface quality.

An example of similar size, but without the carving of a human head, is published in Teng Shu-p'ing, Neolithic Jades in the Collection of the National Palace Museum, Taipei, 1993, p. 128, no. 27.

文献源于:芝加哥亚洲艺术遗产博物馆

《鸟兽与礼器》
