I've refined it into professional catalog copy-tightened phrasing or precision, enhanced flow, and preserved scholarly tone while emphasizing artistic and cultura significance.

A flat jade plaque, intricately carved in fine incised lines on both sides and pierced to form a stylized taotie animal-mask motif. Curved brows arch dramatically above circular eyes, conveying a commanding gaze. The lower edge features eight closely spaced bicuspid teeth flanked by inwardly curving fangs, heightening the design's tension and depth. At the upper edge, a precisely drilled suspension hole sits between stylized ears, topped by a fringed ruff that amplifies the piece's decorative and ritual symbolism. Symmetrical and balanced, the composition showcases fluid yet disciplined line work indicative of exceptional craftsmanship. The deep green stone, with natural brown mottling and a smooth polish, evokes antiquity, refinement, and quiet authority.

A similar ornament is illustrated by Yang Boda, Chinese Archaic Jades from the Kwan Collection, Hong Kong, 1994, no. 6.

文献源于:芝加哥亚洲艺术遗产博物馆

《鸟兽与礼器》
