The Japanese invaders burned, killed, looted, and perpetrated every conceivable atrocity, showing utter inhumanity and brutality. Under the iron heel of Japanese imperialism, the Chinese people were ravaged, their lives plunged into misery, with countless families torn apart and loved ones lost. The "Nanjing Massacre" has eternally condemned the heinous crimes of Japanese militarists to the annals of history.

The Chinese people rose in defiance. The victories at the Battle of Pingxingguan, the Hundred Regiments Offensive, and the Defense of Taierzhuang shattered the myth of Japanese invincibility. The Battles of Shanghai, Wuhan, and Changsha crushed the invaders’ delusion of conquering China within three months. Tactics like tunnel warfare, mine warfare, sparrow harassment, and guerrilla warfare left the enemy disoriented and defeated. Ultimately, the Japanese invaders were forced to declare unconditional surrender on August 15, 1945.

Eighty years have passed, yet Japanese militarism resurges, and Western hegemonism runs rampant. As we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan, we must remain clear-minded, vigilant, and unwavering in our resolve. We must steadfastly uphold reform and opening-up, strengthen national power, cultivate high-tech talent, and invest in cutting-edge research. Let the Chinese nation stand as unbreakable as the Great Wall, and may those who seek to undermine our country be left with nothing but futile dreams! Victory will always belong to the great Chinese people!

February 20, 2025
