On the hospital corridor I spotted an elderly lady with silver hair, looking hale and hearty.

Such a bearing is rarely seen in life.

As a photographer’s instinct, I sensed she was someone with a story.

摄影人的直觉，这是一个有故事的人

I approached her and struck up a conversation.

我上前搭讪

“I am a veteran, 94 years old.”

我是一个 “老兵”，94岁

This serendipitous encounter astounded me.

这份“奇遇”令我震惊

I took a photo of her from a distance.

She smiled happily.

Before I boarded the bus for my return trip,

She warmly invited me to visit her home when I had time.

After I came back, one thought lingered in my mind:

Suddenly an idea struck me.

Later the Korean War broke out.

After demobilization, she met her husband at the municipal conscription bureau.
