Thank you.

Thank you, President Xi, my friend, for this magnificent welcome, for this beautiful day, and for so graciously hosting us on this very historic state visit.

It was a fantastic day. Our meetings were extremely positive, constructive, and we’ve made tremendous progress.

From the beginning, our citizens have shared a deep sense of mutual respect.

Founding Father Benjamin Franklin published The Sayings of Confucius in his colonial newspaper. And today, a sculpture recognizing that ancient Chinese sage is carved into the face of the United States Supreme Court — very proudly.

That is how long and how deep the connection between our two civilizations has been.

Two and a half centuries ago, our people first reached out across the vast Pacific. Two and a half centuries later, that first connection has grown into one of the most consequential relationships in world history.

We remember the Chinese laborers who built our railroads, who toiled through blizzards and mountains to unite America from coast to coast. They helped build America — and we will never forget.

We remember our alliance in World War II, when our nations fought side by side for freedom, for democracy, and for a better future for all mankind.

And today, we see the friendship in every corner of our societies.

Chinese restaurants in America today outnumber the five largest fast‑food chains in the United States —

I also have an important announcement: I am honored to invite you, President Xi, and Madam Peng, to visit the White House on September 24th of this year. We will be waiting for you. Thank you.

今天是无比美好的一天。我们的会谈氛围积极、富有建设性，也取得了丰硕的进展。

从一开始，两国人民之间就饱含着深厚的相互尊重之情。

美国国父本杰明·富兰克林，曾在他创办的殖民时期报纸上刊登《孔子语录》。而如今，这位中国古代圣贤的雕像，傲然镌刻在美国最高法院的建筑正面——这是我们无比引以为傲的事。

这足以见证，我们两大文明之间的联结，渊源何其久远、根基何其深厚。

两个半世纪前，两国人民首次跨越浩瀚的太平洋，彼此伸出友谊之手。两个半世纪后的今天，这份最初的联结，已然发展为世界历史上最具影响力的双边关系之一。

我们从未忘记那些修建美国铁路的华工们，他们顶风冒雪、翻越崇山峻岭，将美国的东西海岸连成一体。是他们助力建设了如今的美国——这份付出，我们永世铭记。

我们热爱中国的文化、历史、艺术与哲学，敬佩中国人民的智慧、包容与坚韧。

孔子曾教诲我们：“己所不欲，勿施于人。”这是永恒不变的真理，是为人处世的黄金法则，更是我们两个伟大国家，构建牢固、持久关系的基石。

这份智慧，正是我们当下最迫切需要的。

习主席，我对您满怀敬意。您是一位伟大的领袖，一位卓越的领袖，我们之间早已建立起一份无比特殊的情谊。这份情谊，植根于信任、尊重与互利共赢。

此次访华，我带来了美国历史上规模最大、阵容最强的商界代表团。团中有数百位顶尖企业的首席执行官，汇聚了全球最优秀的企业力量。他们远道而来，为的是携手合作、投资兴业、创造就业，与中国并肩成长、共同发展。

我们追求公平的贸易、对等的贸易、平衡的贸易，渴望构建一份双赢的双边关系——绝非一方获益、一方受损的关系。

美国与中国，并非竞争对手，而是合作伙伴。只要我们携手同心、并肩前行，便没有无法攻克的挑战，没有无法实现的目标，更没有无法圆梦的理想。

习主席，再次感谢您的友谊与盛情款待，感谢您给予我们这次珍贵的机会。我热切期盼，在未来的岁月里，两国能够共享发展成果、共促繁荣兴盛、共护世界和平。

我还有一项重要的宣布：我荣幸地邀请习主席与彭女士，于今年9月24日访问美国白宫。我们将翘首以盼，恭候二位的到来。谢谢大家。
