燎沉香，消溽暑。鸟雀呼晴，侵晓窥檐语。叶上初阳干宿雨，水面清圆，一一风荷举。

Burning agarwood,

To dispel the damp summer heat.

Birds chirp to greet the clear day,

At dawn they peek and chatter under the eaves.

The morning sun dries the night's rain upon the lotus leaves;

The water's surface, clear and round—

Lotus by lotus, lifted by the breeze.

故乡遥，何日去？家住吴门，久作长安旅。五月渔郎相忆否？小楫轻舟，梦入芙蓉浦。

My homeland lies far away—When shall I return?

I was born by the gates of Wu,

Yet long I've sojourned in Chang'an.

Do the fishermen still remember me this June?

With a small oar, a light boat— I drift in dreams into the lotus pond.

注：

- 燎liáo：点燃；沉香：香木，燃之消暑。

- 消：消除；溽rù暑：潮湿闷热的暑气。

- 呼晴：鸟雀鸣叫报晴；侵晓：拂晓；窥kuī檐语：在屋檐下窥探、啼鸣。

- 叶上初阳：荷叶上初升的太阳；干：晒干；宿雨：昨夜的雨 。

- 清圆：荷叶清润圆正；一一：每一片；风荷举：荷叶在风中挺拔舒展。

- 遥：遥远；吴门：今苏州一带（词人故乡）；长安：借指北宋都城汴京；旅：客居。

- 渔郎：故乡旧友；楫jí：船桨；芙蓉浦：长满荷花的水边。

赏析：

“叶上初阳干宿雨，水面清圆，一一风荷举。”

这几句是写荷的千古名句，王国维《人间词话》赞其“真能得荷之神理”。词人由雨后荷塘的清新之景，触景生情，引出对江南故乡的深切思念。
