Through years of research and artistic practice, his works seek to convey the visual beauty and spiritual depth of the original murals.The exhibition features representative themes such as Flying Apsaras, Buddhist narrative scenes, and Buddha figures, reflecting the diversity of Dunhuang mural art across different historical periods. Supported by interpretive texts and multimedia materials, the exhibition introduces the historical background, artistic techniques, and religious symbolism of the murals.Presented at Dong Zen Temple, Malaysia, this exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to engage with Dunhuang art in a contemplative setting, fostering cultural understanding and appreciation of this enduring artistic tradition. 藝術家董克文簡介· 1990年畢業於淮北師範大學美術學院。大學期間，赴山西芮城永樂宮研修臨習壁畫。· 1991年於安徽省淮北市舉辦個人畫展，自此從寫意人物、山水畫轉向以傳統工筆重彩壁畫人物為主的藝術創作。· 1993年再次赴山西芮城永樂宮考察臨摹作品，與永樂宮研究所所長范金鰲先生共同研討學習傳統工筆重彩方法，並參與壁畫研究室的壁畫臨摹工作。· 1994年赴敦煌莫高窟臨摹壁畫。· 1995年於北京中國美術館舉辦「董克文永樂宮、敦煌、法海寺臨摹作品展」。· 2013年畫冊《董克文臨撫敦煌永樂宮作品》由山西芮城永樂宮壁畫研究所彙集成冊。· 2014年自駕考察青海、西藏藏傳佛教唐卡、壁畫藝術。· 2016年4月於淮北師範大學美術學院美術館舉辦「董克文臨摹敦煌、永樂宮壁畫學術展」。· 2016年7月於黃山市新界美術館舉辦「董克文臨摹敦煌、永樂宮壁畫藝術展」。· 2016年出版《佛影梵音—董克文臨撫敦煌、永樂宮作品集》。· 2017年3月於淮北市礦業大廈展覽廳舉辦「夢回敦煌—董克文臨撫敦煌、永樂宮壁畫藝術展」。· 2018年1月於上海星雲文教館美術館舉辦「佛影梵音—董克文敦煌藝術畫展」。· 2020年7月淮北華安證券分公司在華鬆國際舉辦「董克文敦煌藝術畫展」。· 2023年4月9日於馬來西亞吉隆坡佛光緣美術館東禪館舉辦「佛影梵音—董克文敦煌藝術畫展」。· 2023年6月11日於馬來西亞柔佛州新山佛光緣美術館新馬館舉辦「佛影梵音—董克文敦煌藝術畫展」。· 2023年8月6日於馬來西亞吉隆坡KLCC的CBD區WARREN ART GALLERY（臥龍藝苑）舉辦「佛影梵音—董克文敦煌藝術畫展」。 Artist ProfileDong KewenFor decades, Dong Kewen has devoted himself to the laborious research and artistic copying of murals of Dunhuang in Gansu Province, Yongle Palace in Shanxi Province and Fahai Temple in Beijing. His sustained diligence and ingenuity have resulted in spectacular paintings to be reckoned with by the art, Buddhist and Taoist fraternities in China and increasingly in overseas. While Dong continues to paint and exhibit internationally, he also conducts teaching and gives lectures to ensure the ancient wisdom and legacy of Dunhuang, Yongle and Fahai artists are preserved and passed on to the contemporary generation of artists, scholars, devotees and art lovers. Highlights of Career• Member of the Mural Art Committee of Anhui Artists Association• Member of Anhui Artists Association• Vice Chairman of the Huaibei Artists Association• Vice Chairman of Anhui Coal Mine Artists Association• Chairman of the Huaibei Mining Area Artists Association• Guest Professor of Huaibei Normal University Academy of Art.• 1990: Graduated from the Academy of Art of Huaibei Normal University.• 1990: Analysed the murals of Yongle Palace in Ruicheng, Shanxi Province.• 1991: Held a solo exhibition in Huaibei City, Anhui Province and artistic direction transitioned from freehand figures and landscapes to traditional fine brushworks and heavy-coloured mural figures.• 1993: Visited Yongle Palace in Ruicheng, Shanxi Province again. Learned traditional fine brush and heavy-colouring methods from Mr Fan Jin’ao, director of Yongle Palace Mural Research Institute, and participated in the mural-copying project in the research room.• 1994: Travelled to Dunhuang, Gansu Province to copy murals.• 1995: At the National Art Museum of China, held a solo exhibition of copied paintings of the murals of Dunhuang, Yongle Palace, and Fahai Temple.• 2013: Yongle Palace Mural Research Institute published a photographic archive titled Dong Kewen Copies Dunhuang & Yongle Palace Artworks.• 2014: Carried out a road trip to Qinghai and Tibet to study Tibetan Buddhist thangkas and murals.• 2016: On April 20, the Art Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts of Huaibei Normal University held an exhibition of his copied paintings of Dunhuang and Yongle Palace murals.• 2016: On July 2, Huangshan New Territories Art Museum held an exhibition of his copied paintings of Dunhuang and Yongle Palace murals.• 2016: In October, a book titled Buddhist Shadows & Sanskrit Chant: Copied Paintings of Dunhuang & Yongle Palace by Dong Kewen was published.• 2017: On March 28, Huaibei Mining Building Art Museum held Dreaming Back to Dunhuang: An Art Exhibition of Copied Paintings of Dunhuang and Yongle Palace by Dong Kewen.• 2018: On January 3, the Art Museum of Shanghai Xingyun Culture and Education Centre held an exhibition titled Buddhist Shadows & Sanskrit Chant: Dong Kewen’s Dunhuang Artworks.• 2020: In July, Huaibei branch of Huaan Securities Co.
