Tonight, I watched a movie called Forrest Gump. It is an Oscar-winning film.

Forrest Gump is adapted from the eponymous novel by American author Winston Groom, published in 1986. The film tells the story of Forrest Gump, a man with an IQ of only 75, who, relying on his pure kindness and perseverance, runs a path in life out of childhood bullying. He becomes a college football star and a Vietnam War hero, experiences numerous joys and sorrows with his beloved Jenny, inadvertently participates in major historical events, and eventually grows into a successful entrepreneur and father. It showcases an extraordinary life journey of an ordinary person against the backdrop of a remarkable era.

As a child, Forrest Gump had to wear leg braces for spinal correction, which made it hard for him to move around. This also led to constant bullying from his classmates—they chased him and threw stones at him. But Jenny kept yelling, “Run, Forrest! Run!” Eventually, he unleashed incredible strength and ran faster and faster, breaking free from the constraints of his braces.

Later, Forrest Gump was ordered to fight in the Vietnam War. When they arrived in Vietnam by plane, the first person Forrest met was their lieutenant. The lieutenant briefed them on the key points of patrol. In Forrest’s mind, the only thing he remembered was to stay alive. During an ambush, many of Forrest’s comrades were seriously wounded. Thanks to his incredible speed, Forrest was the first to reach the beach, only to find that his best friend hadn’t followed. So he ran back to look for him. At first, he didn’t find his fellow recruit, but instead came across other injured soldiers. He carried them one by one to safety. Having rescued several comrades this way, he turned back once more to search for his best friend. This time, he found him—but his friend had been hit by a mortar shell, bleeding profusely. Still, Forrest carried him to safety. In his final moments, his best friend told him that after the war, he wanted to be a captain, that they would go shrimping at sea together, and that he wanted Forrest to be his first mate. Forrest promised to fulfill his friend’s dying wish.

再后来阿甘被命令去参加越南战争。当他们坐着飞机到达越南后，阿甘第一个见到的是他们的中尉。中尉给他们讲了巡逻的要点。在阿甘的脑海里，他只记得要活着。在一次袭击中，阿甘的很多战友受了重伤。因为阿甘跑得快，最先来到沙滩边，结果发现他的好朋友没有跟来，于是他跑回去寻找，开始时并没有找到他一起参军的伙伴，而找到了其他人，他一个个把他们背到安全地带，就这样，他把好几个战友背到安全地带，又一次折返去寻找他的好伙伴。这一次他找到了，只是他的伙伴已经身中炮弹，血流不止，但他依然把他背到安全地带。他的好朋友在最后时刻告诉他，等战争结束，他要当船长，他们要一起出海去捕虾，让阿甘做他的大副。阿甘答应了朋友临终的愿望。
