The Amazing Octopus

The octopus (章鱼) is one of the most intelligent (聪明的) and unusual

creatures in the sea. It has a soft body, eight arms,

and no bones. This allows

The Great Wall: More Than a Wall

Most people know the Great Wall of China as a long, ancient wall. But it is much more than that. It was

built over thousands of

years, starting as early as the 7th century BC, with

the most famous parts

The Language of Whales

Humpback whales (座头鲸) are not only huge and

majestic (雄伟的); they are also famous for their songs. These are not random (随机的) sounds but complex (复杂的) sequences (序列) of moans, cries, and

other noises that can last

for hours. Only male

humpback whales sing,

and scientists believe they sing to attract females or

to communicate with other males.

A whale’s song can travel

for hundreds of kilometers through the ocean. The

songs are not fixed; they
