And how can we, young as we are, shape the future of our times? Today, let’s talk about "Youth Shines, Future Unfolds".

First, youth is like the sapling we planted in the school garden last spring. It was thin and fragile at first, but we watered it weekly, loosened its soil after rains, and propped it with a stick. Half a year later, it grew new branches and tender leaves. Youth’s power lies in such small, steady efforts. In class, when we spend 30 minutes solving a tricky math problem, trying solution after solution; when we practice English dialogues in front of the mirror each morning, even if our voices tremble; when we stay after art class to redo a painting, just to make the sunset’s color more vivid—these are the "water and sunshine" we give our youth.

Last month, our class had a "Future City" design activity. Lily wanted a "sponge city" to collect rainwater for plants; Tom proposed solar panels on every building for clean energy; quiet Lisa drew a rooftop "shared garden" for neighbors to grow veggies and chat. We turned these ideas into a big picture, and when we hung it up, I realized "future" isn’t vague. It’s in Lily’s seriousness about water conservation, Tom’s excitement about solar energy, and Lisa’s careful strokes for the garden. Every character we write, formula we memorize, and English sentence we practice is a brushstroke, outlining the future era.

Second, "looking far" doesn’t mean setting huge goals like being a scientist. I learned its true meaning from last semester’s calligraphy competition. At first, I practiced casually, but my handwriting stayed messy. Our Chinese teacher said: "To win, take every stroke seriously now." So I practiced 30 minutes daily—holding the pen right, focusing on each horizontal and vertical line. Gradually, my writing got neat, and our class won second prize. This taught me: "Looking far" is doing small things well now. We study hard not just for exams, but to build a foundation for future knowledge; we do sports not just for tests, but for a strong body to chase dreams; we help classmates not just for friendship, but to learn to be responsible and warm.

My deskmate Alex loves robotics. Every weekend, he goes to the school’s tech club to assemble robots. I once asked if it’s worth it since he can’t make a useful robot yet. He showed me his work: "This motor is the robot’s 'heart'. I’m learning to connect it now. When I grow up, I want to make robots that help the elderly cross roads. Every skill I learn now is a 'part' for that future robot." His words hit me: Youth isn’t about big deeds now, but keeping future hopes in mind and doing small things well. These efforts are like building blocks—when we have enough, we’ll build our dream "building".

Finally, a book once said: "Youth is life’s most beautiful chapter; every young person creates the times." A hundred years ago, 20-somethings marched to awaken the nation; decades ago, young scientists worked in the Gobi to launch China’s first atomic bomb; now, 15-year-old diver Quan Hongchan practiced 300 times a day to win Olympic gold; Yunnan’s Lin Hao taught himself programming and entered national competitions. We seventh-graders can contribute too: pick up garbage for a green campus, study hard for knowledge, help classmates to warm the community. Our small efforts together light up the future.

Dear classmates, youth is precious. Let’s walk steadily, stay curious, and shoulder responsibility. Let our youth shine to paint the future of our era!

Thank you!
