In 2005, he was named one of the “Most Recommended Promising Artists” by the Asian Academy of Arts.</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">Known as Mingyuan Shanren, his original name is Wei Bingshan, and he also uses the studio name Li Yun Study House Owner. He is originally from Pingnan, Guangxi. He specializes in large freehand flower-and-bird painting. He studied under the renowned landscape painter Mr. Chen Yupu and calligrapher Mr. Wang Zengjun, and received guidance from Professor Liu Kexiong of Soochow University, freehand master Mr. Wang Zhongyi of Xi’an, and calligraphy Ph.D. Mr. Li Dongming, among other distinguished mentors.
