Today was cloudy, with the occasional dark cloud drifting by, bringing a few scattered drops of light rain. At 10:00 AM, I reached Montreal, 11 kilometers away, where everyone stopped to have coffee. At the 20-kilometer mark, around 12:20 PM, I came across a small stall serving pilgrims, and everyone stopped again to rest and eat lunch from their own provisions. The two rest stops on today’s route appeared just when I needed an energy boost—very fortunate. The path today was easy to walk, passing through farmlands, vineyards, and a 10-kilometer stretch of shaded tree-lined paths. At 2:30 PM, I arrived at the central square in front of the Eauze Cathedral.

‍

Pont d’Artigues, a five-arch Romanesque bridge from the Middle Ages.

Endless wheat fields.

The road leading to the distance.

The vineyard.

Entering Montreal-du-Gers, France, population 1,170. Shortly after arriving at the guesthouse, it started pouring rain, so I didn’t return to the city center. The guesthouse has only three guests today, and I have a room to myself.
