We are so proud of the remarkable woman you have become: a dedicated professional, a passionate musician, and above all, a loving daughter.</p> <p class="ql-block">From your earliest days with the violin, your talent and perseverance have always shone brightly. We still remember the thrill when you won first prize in your age group at the Canadian national competitions, and the pride we felt when you went on to capture the ethnic Chinese group championship on CCTV’s <i>Family Fun</i> program at just 10 years old. Your journey continued with the ARCT—The Associate Diploma of The Royal Conservatory of Music in Violin Performance—achieved in high school, a true reflection of your dedication.</p> <p class="ql-block">We were deeply moved when you became concertmaster of the UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, all while completing a triple major in just four years. Under the guidance of world-renowned conductors such as Riccardo Muti and Gustavo Dudamel, and even sharing unforgettable moments with Yo-Yo Ma, you grew tremendously as a musician. Today, leading and performing with the Cuckoo/BerGoo Quartet, and serving as concertmaster of the Google Symphony Orchestra, you carry that same passion forward—sharing your music with the world while excelling in your career at Google.</p> <p class="ql-block">Our hearts are full of joy knowing how much happiness your new Jay Haide violin, model Vuillaume, brings you. You have long wished for this instrument, and we were delighted to make it a meaningful “big birthday” gift—as the saying goes, <i>Thirty is the age of maturity and independence</i>. With the GSO concert in your birthday month, it feels like the perfect gift at the perfect time. Though far away, we felt so close to you and Daniel as you chose the violin together at Ifshin Violins in El Cerrito, California, this past Saturday, September 13th—we followed each moment with joy on WeChat.</p> <p class="ql-block">You have worked so hard for so many years, and this is a gift you truly deserve.</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">Happy 30th birthday, Pearl!
