Welcome to a New School Year!

What an exciting start it has been for our Pre-school B students! We’ve kicked off the year with a wonderful unit on Vehicles and Transportation 🚗🚓. Just two weeks in, and the children have already settled in beautifully.

Let’s take a peek at all the fun learning that’s been happening so far! ✨

The children have been busy learning to recognise their name cards and ‘sign themselves in’ during circle time! Each morning, after a cheerful “Good morning!”, they zoom over to find their names and park them on the circle-time board, how wonderfully independent they are already!

Let’s take a look at our little drivers in action…

We’ve been tuning into our unit by sorting pictures on our ‘Does it Go?’ poster, giving each one a little test drive to see if it belongs on the road! The students were so excited to come up and steer the decision, deciding for themselves whether each picture was a vehicle or not, and they loved taking a turn at the front to place their choices on the poster.

During inquiry time, the students revved up their imagination and designed their own cars, choosing their favourite colours and picking the paper patterns they wanted. It was so exciting to see their little cars ready to zoom off the page!

We’ve also been singing lots of songs together and enjoying some wonderful stories! One of our favourites has been the book ‘Up, Up, Up’, the children have loved zooming along with the songs and joining in, all while learning about the different vehicles featured in the story.

This week, the students have started phonics, beginning with the letter sound ‘S’. They’ve been learning how the letter sounds and getting familiar with how it looks. Using play-dough to recreate the letter S has been so much fun, the children really enjoyed rolling and shaping their letters!

What a fun-filled and exciting two weeks it has been! The children have loved zooming into learning, and we can’t wait to share more adventures next time!✨
