7月25日凌晨，你又独自搭乘CA173返回澳大利亚。短暂时光里，中国的一切给你留下深刻印象，你毫不吝啬对中国的赞美，说这里比澳大利亚好，还满心期待下次假期再回中国。

Dear Ethan,

This July, your solo journey marked the start of an extraordinary adventure. At 5 a.m. on July 14th, at the age of 12, you crossed hemispheres and arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport from Australia via flight CA174. This was your first long-distance flight alone, and you were so brave, which made us so proud.

During your 10 days in China, you explored to your heart's content. You left laughter in Langfang's Nature Park and Zoo; at the Beijing Auto Museum, you felt the charm of automotive culture; when climbing the Mutianyu Great Wall, your little figureed among the ancient bricks, experiencing China's magnificent natural scenery and profound historical heritage.

In the early morning of July 25th, you took flight CA173 back to Australia alone. During this short time, everything in China left a deep impression on you. You generously praised China, saying it was better than Australia, and looked forward to returning to China during the next vacation.

These more than 200 photos taken by Grandpa have frozen every bit of your time in China, carrying joy and growth. They will always record this beautiful memory, and whenever you flip through them, you will recall the happy time you spent in China.

On the noon of Ethan's first day back in China, his grandparents held a welcome luncheon for their little grandson at the Western Restaurant of Langfang International Hotel. Ethan's great-uncle, great-aunt and their whole family attended the luncheon. In the evening, Liang Yuxin and her two sisters treated Ethan to McDonald's.

参观北京汽车博物馆

北京汽车博物馆位于北京市丰台区南四环西路126号，于2011年建成开放，是中国国家公益性汽车主题博物馆。其建筑面积约5万平方米，建筑造型创意为一只明亮的“眼睛”，寓意放眼世界、面向未来。

博物馆集博物馆、展览馆、科技馆三位一体，设有创造馆、进步馆、未来馆及中国汽车工业经典藏品展区。馆内共有13个展区、44个展览主题、50余个互动展项，收藏了6000余件各类馆藏品，包括80余辆珍贵的藏品车。展览以“科学-技术-社会”为主题，展现世界汽车百年发展历史和中国汽车工业的发展历程。

博物馆还开展了多种特色主题活动，如“5.18国际博物馆日”系列专题展览、“赛·车嘉年华”寒暑假体验营等。自开馆以来，北京汽车博物馆累计荣获国家级、市区级、行业荣誉400余项，先后获评国家一级博物馆、国家AAAA级旅游景区等称号。

Visiting the Beijing Auto Museum

The Beijing Auto Museum is located at No. 126, South Fourth Ring West Road, Fengtai District, Beijing. It was completed and opened to the public in 2011, and is a national public welfare automobile-themed museum in China. With a construction area of approximately 50,000 square meters, its architectural design is inspired by a bright "eye", symbolizing looking at the world and facing the future.

The museum integrates the functions of a museum, an exhibition hall, and a science and technology museum. It has the Creation Hall, the Progress Hall, the Future Hall, and the Classic Collection Exhibition Area of China's automobile industry. There are 13 exhibition areas, 44 exhibition themes, more than 50 interactive exhibits, and over 6,000 collected items of various types, including more than 80 precious collection vehicles. With the theme of "Science-Technology-Society", the exhibitions showcase the 100-year development history of the world's automobile industry and the development process of China's automobile industry.

The museum also holds various characteristic themed activities, such as the "5.18 International Museum Day" series of special exhibitions and the "Race·Car Carnival" winter and summer vacation experience camps. Since its opening, the Beijing Auto Museum has won more than 400 national, municipal, district-level and industry honors, and has been successively awarded the titles of National First-Class Museum and National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction.

廊坊自然公园

廊坊自然公园位于广阳道与西昌路交汇处铁路南侧，是市内唯一的自然景观园林。

基本概况

• 始建时间：1999年8月。

• 占地面积：总占地面积2378亩。

• 森林覆盖率：达到90%，林冠郁闭度为0.8。

园区景观

• 自然景观：以原生林为主体，树木参天，森林木屋、人工湖点缀其间。林中栖息着雀科、鹰科、文鸟科、黄鹂科等几十种、上万只鸟类。

• 人文景观：公园中部有占地100亩的人工湖，湖北设有动物观赏区，湖西土山上新建文化碑林，湖东侧草坪上有8只栩栩如生的汉白玉大象雕塑，东北部建有岩石园，南侧建有以清代四合院格局的“京韵风情”俱乐部。

园区设施

• 游乐设施：公园门前主路两侧设置儿童游乐区，配备了碰碰车、卡丁车、森林漂流、海盗船等游乐设施。

• 纪念林地：陆续开辟了青年林、巾帼林、八一林、亲子林、公仆林、市民林等多块纪念林地。

西扩项目

• 项目概况：2009年开始西扩，2014年6月1日正式开放。工程地点位于廊坊市区西北方向，总用地面积1390亩，湖区占地面积120亩，总建筑面积9000平方米，共建设聚贤广场、叶脉方舟、迷宫、雕塑园、演艺广场、云绘楼等29个主题景观。

• 建设理念：围绕“龙凤之城、皇都之邻、悠久文化、儒雅气质”的廊坊特色，确定了“自然廊坊、生态廊坊、人文廊坊”的建设理念。

荣誉称号

廊坊自然公园是国家AAAA级旅游景区，河北省“五星”级公园，河北省“省级青年文明号”单位。

Langfang Natural Park

Langfang Natural Park is located on the south side of the railway at the intersection of Guangyang Road and Xichang Road. It is the only natural landscape garden in the city.

Basic Information

• Construction start time: August 1999.

• Area: The total area is 2,378 mu (a Chinese unit of area, 1 mu ≈ 666.67 square meters).

• Forest coverage rate: Reaching 90%, with a forest canopy closure of 0.8.

Park Landscapes

• Natural landscapes: Dominated by primary forests, with towering trees, forest cabins and artificial lakes dotted around. The forest is home to dozens of species and tens of thousands of birds, including those from the families of finches, eagles, munias and orioles.

• Cultural landscapes: In the middle of the park, there is a 100-mu artificial lake. On the north side of the lake, there is an animal viewing area; on the west side, a cultural stele forest is built on the earthen hill; on the east lawn of the lake, there are 8 lifelike white marble elephant sculptures; a rock garden is built in the northeast; and in the south, there is the "Jingyun Style" Club, which is designed in the pattern of a Qing Dynasty quadrangle.

Park Facilities

• Amusement facilities: Children's amusement areas are set up on both sides of the main road in front of the park, equipped with bumper cars, go-karts, forest rafting, pirate ships and other amusement facilities.

• Commemorative woodlands: Several commemorative woodlands have been opened one after another, such as Youth Forest, Women's Forest, Bayi Forest, Parent-Child Forest, Public Servant Forest and Citizen Forest.

West Expansion Project

• Project overview: The west expansion started in 2009 and was officially opened on June 1, 2014. The project is located in the northwest of Langfang urban area, with a total land area of 1,390 mu, a lake area of 120 mu and a total construction area of 9,000 square meters. It has built 29 themed landscapes including Juxian Square, Vein Ark, Maze, Sculpture Park, Performance Square and Yunhui Tower.

• Construction concept: Centering on Langfang's characteristics of "the city of dragon and phoenix, neighbor of the imperial capital, long-standing culture and elegant temperament", the construction concept of "Natural Langfang, Ecological Langfang, Cultural Langfang" has been established.

Honors

Langfang Natural Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a "Five-Star" park in Hebei Province, and a "Provincial Youth Civilization" unit in Hebei Province.

攀登《北京慕田峪长城》

慕田峪长城位于北京怀柔区渤海镇，是明长城保存最完整、长度最长的段落之一，以下是其详细介绍：

历史沿革

• 始建于明洪武初年，由大将徐达在北齐长城遗址上督建而成，明永乐二年建慕田峪关。

• 明隆庆三年，戚继光对慕田峪段在内的二千里长城进行整修。

建筑特色

• 正关台：又称慕田峪关、三座楼，建于明永乐二年，三座敌楼并矗，分为上下两层，中部较大，两侧较小，三座敌楼之间各层相通，在长城建筑中甚为罕见。

• 敌楼密集：从慕字一台至慕字四台不到500米就设敌楼4座，从慕字一台至慕字二十台长度仅3000米，敌楼、敌台、墙台、铺房就有25座，百米左右就有一座敌楼的长城段不多见。

• 双面垛口：与其他段长城多在外侧一面建垛口墙不同，慕田峪段长城两面都为垛口墙，意味着两侧可同敌作战，体现其重要战略地位。

• 支城：慕田峪长城内、外支城并存。外支城在主城墙外侧，连接慕字十一台；内支城即大角楼向南延伸的城墙，称为“秃尾巴边”。

• 植被茂密：植被覆盖率高达96%以上，拥有620余种植物，生物多样性丰富。

• 四季美景：春季山花烂漫，夏季群山叠翠，秋季红叶漫山，冬季白雪皑皑，四季景色各异。

• 万里长城第一缆车：缆车索道全长723米，终点海拔高度640米，有自动启闭车厢58个，单程运量为1800人次/小时，运行系统全部自动化。

• 施必得滑道：是德国威岗公司生产的不锈钢槽式滑道，全长1580米，依山顺势呈蛇状，利用重力加速度原理使滑车沿着高山俯冲而下。

• 长城文化展示中心：坐落在慕田峪长城综合服务区，外观古朴典雅，占地面积1207平方米，展示慕田峪长城深厚的文化底蕴。

荣誉称号

1961年被国务院列为首批全国文物保护单位；1987年被列入《世界文化遗产名录》；2011年被评为国家5A级景区。

Climbing the "Mutianyu Great Wall in Beijing"

The Mutianyu Great Wall is located in Bohai Town, Huairou District, Beijing. It is one of the best-preserved and longest sections of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall. Here is a detailed introduction:

Historical Evolution

• First built in the early years of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty, it was supervised and constructed by General Xu Da on the site of the Northern Qi Dynasty Great Wall. The Mutianyu Pass was built in the second year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty.

• In the third year of the Longqing reign of the Ming Dynasty, Qi Jiguang renovated 2,000 li (about 1,000 kilometers) of the Great Wall, including the Mutianyu section.

Architectural Features

• Zhengguantai (Main Pass Platform): Also known as Mutianyu Pass or Three Towers, it was built in the second year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty. Three watchtowers stand side by side, divided into upper and lower floors. The middle one is larger, and the ones on both sides are smaller. All floors of the three watchtowers are connected, which is rare in Great Wall architecture.

• Dense Watchtowers: There are 4 watchtowers within less than 500 meters from Mutianyu No.1 Tower to Mutianyu No.4 Tower. From Mutianyu No.1 Tower to Mutianyu No.20 Tower, which is only 3,000 meters long, there are 25 structures including watchtowers, enemy platforms, wall platforms, and guard houses. It is uncommon to see a Great Wall section with a watchtower every about 100 meters.

• Double-sided Battlements: Unlike other Great Wall sections where battlements are mostly built on the outer side, the Mutianyu section has battlements on both sides, meaning it can fight enemies from both sides, reflecting its important strategic position.

• Branch Walls: The Mutianyu Great Wall has both inner and outer branch walls. The outer branch wall is outside the main wall, connecting to Mutianyu No.11 Tower; the inner branch wall, which extends southward from the Big Corner Tower, is called "Tuweiba Bian" (Bald-tailed Edge).

Natural Landscapes and Environment

• Lush Vegetation: The vegetation coverage rate is over 96%, with more than 620 species of plants, boasting rich biodiversity.

• Four-Season Beauty: In spring, flowers bloom all over the mountains; in summer, the mountains are covered with green; in autumn, red leaves spread across the hills; in winter, the scenery is covered with white snow. Each season has its unique charm.

Supporting Facilities

• The First Cable Car of the Great Wall: The cable car ropeway is 723 meters long, with the terminal at an altitude of 640 meters. It has 58 automatically opening and closing cabins, with a one-way capacity of 1,800 passengers per hour, and the operation system is fully automated.

• Slideway (Shibide Slide): A stainless steel trough slide produced by Germany's Wiegand Company, with a total length of 1,580 meters. It winds like a snake along the mountain, and the pulley slides down the mountain using the principle of gravitational acceleration.

• Great Wall Culture Exhibition Center: Located in the Mutianyu Great Wall Comprehensive Service Area, it has an elegant and antique appearance, covering an area of 1,207 square meters, showcasing the profound cultural heritage of the Mutianyu Great Wall.

Honors

In 1961, it was listed as one of the first national cultural relics protection units by the State Council; in 1987, it was included in the World Heritage List; in 2011, it was rated as a national 5A-level scenic spot.

To help Ethan better understand the history and culture of China's ancient Great Wall, his grandfather specially spent a large sum of money to hire an English-speaking tour guide. The young guide accompanied him all the way to climb the Great Wall, and our little grandson was extremely happy.
