<p class="ql-block">We gathered early in front of the flower bed and took a photo of our 2025 Little Dragon Summer Camp Week 2. </p> <p class="ql-block">The sunlight spilled into every corner of the camp as we moved between various activities.</p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:20px;">🏀 Basketball Skills & Teamwork</b></p> <p class="ql-block">Each day, campers built their basketball abilities with focused drills: dribbling, passing, shooting, and even soccer-infused agility training. Their progress has been impressive! </p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:20px;">🔤English</b></p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:18px;">Group A </b></p> <p class="ql-block">The students worked on recognizing and writing sight words and high-frequency words through worksheets. They also practiced oral reading skills by reading books aloud. </p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:18px;">Group B </b></p> <p class="ql-block">The focus was on spelling and vocabulary. The students practiced word chains and rhyming words (e.g., spot, pot, got) to strengthen their phonetic skills. </p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:18px;">Group C </b></p> <p class="ql-block">The group worked on reading comprehension, inference skills, and spelling through various activities, including read-aloud sessions and writing poems.</p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b>Group D</b></p> <p class="ql-block">This week, the students worked on constructing sentences and words. They learned how to form words using prefixes and suffixes, as well as the past, present, and future tenses. </p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:18px;">Group E</b></p> <p class="ql-block">The students practiced writing stories while learning basic story and sentence structure. This helped improve their grammar, vocabulary, and spelling. </p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b>Group F </b></p> <p class="ql-block">The students explored The Hero’s Journey, a narrative structure about a hero’s transformative adventure. They began by using story dice to generate themes for creative short stories. Next, they analyzed a movie character of their choice and explained how their story fit The Hero’s Journey. Finally, they read The Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury—a classic example of this narrative structure—before writing their own stories.</p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:18px;">Responsible Classroom </b></p> <p class="ql-block">🎭 Chinese Drama: "曹冲称象" (Cao Chong Weighs an Elephant)</p> <p class="ql-block">Through storytelling, prop-making, and lively performances, students brought this classic fable to life.
