Warm-Up & Movement (8-10 minutes)</p><p class="ql-block">1. Sing and Dance: Start by getting everyone moving!</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Let's sing and dance to 'Jump, Run, Shout'!" Encourage students to mimic the actions.</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Now, let's try 'Dance Freeze Party'!" Play the music and have students freeze when the music stops.</p><p class="ql-block">II. Book Review & Action Words (30 minutes)</p><p class="ql-block">1. Review "Jump Over":</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Do you remember our book, 'Jump Over'?" Hold up the book.</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Let's remember who jumps over in our story!"</p><p class="ql-block"> * Read or prompt students to recall the sentences:</p><p class="ql-block"> * "The cat jumps over." (Encourage a jump!)</p><p class="ql-block"> * "The dog jumps over." (Another jump!)</p><p class="ql-block"> * "The horse jumps over."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "The fox jumps over."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "The deer jumps over."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "The goat jumps over."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "The girl jumps over."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "The cow jumps over."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Great job remembering all those jumping animals!"</p><p class="ql-block">III. New Book & Size Concepts (20 minutes)</p><p class="ql-block">1. Introduce "Big":</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Now, we have a new book today, and it's all about things that are... BIG!" Hold up the book "Big."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Let's read and see what big things we can find!"</p><p class="ql-block"> * Read the book, emphasizing the word "big" and the pictures.</p><p class="ql-block"> * Repeat the sentences, encouraging students to say "big" with you:</p><p class="ql-block"> * "A big big house."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "A big dog."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "A big plane."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "A big car."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "A big bus."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "A big elephant."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "A big tree."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "A big dinosaur."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Wow, so many big things! Can you show me something big in our classroom?"</p><p class="ql-block">IV. Farm Animals & Sequencing (25 minutes)</p><p class="ql-block">1. Farm Animals on TV:</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Now, let's look at some pictures of animals from the farm!" Display a picture from "Jump Over" (or similar farm animal sequence if the book doesn't have a clear sequence) on the TV.</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Look carefully at this picture. What animals do you see?"</p><p class="ql-block"> * "In our 'Jump Over' book, these animals were jumping. Can you remember which animal jumped first, then next?" (Guide them through the sequence if the picture allows for it, or just discuss the animals present).</p><p class="ql-block"> * Sequencing Activity: "Who can come to the TV and point to the animal that jumped first? Then who jumped next?" Invite individual students to come up and point to the sequence of animals as they appeared in the "Jump Over" story.</p><p class="ql-block">2. Worksheet Activity:</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Now it's your turn to make your own story!" Hand out the "Animals in the Farm" worksheet, scissors, and glue.</p><p class="ql-block"> * "First, carefully cut out all the farm animal pictures."</p><p class="ql-block"> * "Now, remember our story 'Jump Over'? I want you to paste the animals in the order they jumped in the book. Which animal jumped first? Paste that one first. Then which one jumped next?"</p><p class="ql-block"> * Circulate and assist students as they cut and paste, reinforcing the sequence of the story.</p><p class="ql-block">V. Wrap-Up (5 minutes)</p><p class="ql-block">* "You all did a fantastic job today!
