Our son is now in his second year at UCLA, having graduated from Appleby College one of Canada's top private schools. Although he is majoring in finance and Al (mathematics/computer science), this summer he plans to enroll in several film studies courses to explore the cinematic world. Coincidentally, both of his freshman roommates were film majors, which has made a deep impression on him. We believe in raising globally minded, curious individuals— and UCLA's vibrant film culture is opening new perspectives for him.</p><p class="ql-block">My own story began in Shanghai, followed by five formative years in Tokyo working as a senior translator in Ginza and Roppongi.
