His individual poems have won numerous prizes, including, most recently, the Peter Porter Poetry Prize. Activity Purpose<br> <br>Using poetry as a bridge, this initiative transcends geographical and temporal boundaries to showcase a global network of poetic connections. Renowned poets from five continents will be invited to host four high-quality online poetry readings based on the "spring, summer, autumn, winter" cycle, with audio albums recorded. The aim is to foster in-depth global poetic exchanges, highlight the charm of diverse cultures, and build a beautiful "Cloud Poetry Gathering" for spiritual dwelling.<br> <br>II. Core Concepts<br> <br>- Poetry Across Five Continents: Break down regional barriers and gather voices of poets from five continents (Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas, Oceania).<br><br>- Rhythms of the Four Seasons: Align with natural rhythms (spring birth, summer growth, autumn harvest, winter storage), infusing each poetry reading with a unique seasonal soul and thematic depth.<br><br>- Cloud Symphony: Leverage digital technology to enable interaction among poets and audiences worldwide.<br><br>- Boundless Poetics: Encourage recitation in mother tongues plus professional translation/subtitles, respecting linguistic diversity and conveying poetry’s power.<br><br> <br>III. Activity Structure<br> <br>- Frequency: Tentatively 4 sessions, held on the Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumn Equinox, and Winter Solstice.<br><br>- Format: Online live streaming and recorded broadcasts (via WeChat Video Channel, etc.).<br>- Duration: Each live session approx. 120 minutes (tentative).<br> <br>IV. Organization and Execution<br> <br>1. Initiators:<br><br>- Ma Yongbo – Responsible for poet invitations, content review, Chinese translation.<br><br>- Jiang Lingshan – Responsible for Chinese recitation, theme design, editing, and platform operation.<br><br>2. Submission Deadline: June 15, 2025<br> <br>Biographies of Co-Founders<br> <br>- Ma Yongbo (b. 1964), PhD in Literature, a leading figure in Chinese avant-garde poetry, and a renowned scholar of Anglo-American poetry. Since 1986, he has published over 80 original and translated works, including 9 poetry collections. Specializing in translating and teaching Anglo-American poetry and prose (e.g., Dickinson, Whitman, Stevens, Pound, Williams, Ashbery), he recently released a full translation of Moby-Dick, with sales exceeding 600,000 copies. His Collected Poems of Ma Yongbo (4 volumes, Dongfang Publishing Center, 2024), containing 1,178 poems, celebrates his 40 years of poetic exploration.<br><br>- Jiang Lingshan (female), a host and broadcasting director at Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, winner of the China Golden Microphone Award for Broadcasting and Hosting, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Broadcasting and Hosting Committee, and a member of the National Broadcasting and Recitation Expert Group of "Xuexi Qiangguo." She has edited 10 audio textbooks on Mandarin and recitation.<br> <br>Ten poets (from five continents and Chinese-speaking regions) will be invited by invitation only.
