questions we cannot know
without the process, cannot

is to not-think, just
arrive & I’m wondering how

ever leave this mountain, the owls
like night’s doorbells, squirrels
picking dawn locks
& the pine trees, like
minds, moving unsimply
into the world’s entanglements

Dan Disney’s latest books include New Directions in Contemporary Australian Poetry(co-edited with Matthew Hall;Palgrave) and accelerations & inertias (Vagabond Press), which was shortlisted for the Judith Wright Calanthe Award and received the Kenneth Slessor Prize. His individual poems have won numerous prizes, including, most recently, the Peter Porter Poetry Prize. For the last 15 years Disney has taught in the English Literature Program at Sogang University, in Seoul.

I. Activity Purpose

Using poetry as a bridge, this initiative transcends geographical and temporal boundaries to showcase a global network of poetic connections. Renowned poets from five continents will be invited to host four high-quality online poetry readings based on the "spring, summer, autumn, winter" cycle, with audio albums recorded. The aim is to foster in-depth global poetic exchanges, highlight the charm of diverse cultures, and build a beautiful "Cloud Poetry Gathering" for spiritual dwelling.

II. Core Concepts

- Poetry Across Five Continents: Break down regional barriers and gather voices of poets from five continents (Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas, Oceania).

- Rhythms of the Four Seasons: Align with natural rhythms (spring birth, summer growth, autumn harvest, winter storage), infusing each poetry reading with a unique seasonal soul and thematic depth.

- Cloud Symphony: Leverage digital technology to enable interaction among poets and audiences worldwide.

- Boundless Poetics: Encourage recitation in mother tongues plus professional translation/subtitles, respecting linguistic diversity and conveying poetry’s power.


III. Activity Structure

- Frequency: Tentatively 4 sessions, held on the Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumn Equinox, and Winter Solstice.

- Format: Online live streaming and recorded broadcasts (via WeChat Video Channel, etc.).
- Duration: Each live session approx. 120 minutes (tentative).

IV. Organization and Execution

1. Initiators:

- Ma Yongbo – Responsible for poet invitations, content review, Chinese translation.

- Jiang Lingshan – Responsible for Chinese recitation, theme design, editing, and platform operation.

2. Intended Media Platforms:

Dalanjing, Litchi News, Himalaya, Xuexi Qiangguo, WeChat Official Accounts, Xiaohongshu, Meipian, Weibo, Douyin, Kuaishou, etc.

3. Submission Deadline: June 15, 2025

Biographies of Co-Founders

- Ma Yongbo (b. 1964), PhD in Literature, a leading figure in Chinese avant-garde poetry, and a renowned scholar of Anglo-American poetry. Since 1986, he has published over 80 original and translated works, including 9 poetry collections. Specializing in translating and teaching Anglo-American poetry and prose (e.g., Dickinson, Whitman, Stevens, Pound, Williams, Ashbery), he recently released a full translation of Moby-Dick, with sales exceeding 600,000 copies. His Collected Poems of Ma Yongbo (4 volumes, Dongfang Publishing Center, 2024), containing 1,178 poems, celebrates his 40 years of poetic exploration.

- Jiang Lingshan (female), a host and broadcasting director at Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, winner of the China Golden Microphone Award for Broadcasting and Hosting, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Broadcasting and Hosting Committee, and a member of the National Broadcasting and Recitation Expert Group of "Xuexi Qiangguo." She has edited 10 audio textbooks on Mandarin and recitation.

Ten poets (from five continents and Chinese-speaking regions) will be invited by invitation only. Please send summer-themed poems, biographies, and high-resolution photos to Ma Yongbo at [e-mail] as soon as possible. After text confirmation, record a 5–10-minute video (or audio) in a natural setting or study.

Video Opening Script:

Include:

- Recitation of one confirmed theme poem.
- The author’s interpretation of the poem and elaboration of their poetic philosophy.

一、活动主旨
以诗歌为纽带，跨越地理与时空界限，呈现全球诗歌网络聚联。邀请五大洲杰出诗人，依据“春夏秋冬”四季轮转，举办四场高品质网络诗会，录制音频专辑节目。旨在促进世界诗歌深度交流、展现多元文化魅力，构建美好栖居的“云端诗荟”。

二、核心理念
五洲共吟：打破地域藩篱，汇聚五大洲（亚、欧、非、美、大洋）诗人声音。
四季诗韵：紧扣自然节律（春生、夏长、秋收、冬藏），赋予每场诗会独特季节灵魂与主题内涵。
云端交响：依托网络技术，实现全球诗人和观众互联互动。
诗艺无界：鼓励母语朗诵+专业翻译/字幕，尊重语言多样性，传递诗歌的力量。

三、活动架构
频次：暂定4场，分别于春分日、夏至日、秋分日、冬至日举行。
形式：线上视频直播与录播（视频号等）
时长：直播每场约 120 分钟（暂定）


四、组织执行
1. 发起人：
马永波———负责诗人邀请、内容把关、翻译协调、文字版权等。
姜林杉———负责中文朗诵、主题设计、剪辑制作、平台运维等。
2.拟发布的媒体平台：大蓝鲸、荔枝新闻、喜马拉雅、学习强国、微信公众号、小红书、美篇、微博、抖音、快手等。

姜林杉，江苏广电总台主持人、播音指导，中国播音主持“金话筒”奖获得者，江苏省播音主持委员会副主任，“学习强国”全国播音朗诵专家团成员。10本普通话、朗诵等有声教材主编。
