<p class="ql-block">On June 14, 2023, we revisited Astoria , the coastal town of Oregon and met again with the American mother who adopted a Chinese disabled child. </p><p class="ql-block">Back in 2012, before she went to Shanghai, we had a chance encounter and learned about this touching story. I wrote articles and poems to document it. </p><p class="ql-block">In 2018, we passed through the town again and recorded Alivia’s account of why she and her husband adopted the child and their journey to China.</p><p class="ql-block">Now in 2023 summer , as she watches the old footage we recorded, she's moved to tears. Alivia is a third-generation Norwegian-American, and her husband, Mark, is of French descent. Together, they form a family filled with boundless love.</p><p class="ql-block">The little boy, Jude, has grown up in this beautiful seaside town, alongside a loving older brother and sister. Our hearts were melted by the warmth of their family.</p><p class="ql-block">We saw the Chinese boy—tall and strong—though not yet thirteen, he's already a young athlete. We captured a photo of him with his dear older brother, Sawyer. His older sister was at a friend’s gathering, and their father was away on business, so we didn’t get to meet him this time.</p><p class="ql-block">That evening, we treated them to dinner, and the kids chose a Japanese restaurant.</p><p class="ql-block">2023年六月十四日重访俄罗岗海滨小城，见到收养中国残疾儿童的妈妈和长大的男孩，2012 年她去上海之前我们巧遇，得知她和她的丈夫第二天要去上海收养一个只有一只手的两岁多男孩，对这个感人事情，我写过文章诗歌记述，在微信群里获得朋友们的关注和赞美。</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">2018年又路经这里，录下爱丽薇娅叙述她和她的丈夫收养孩子的初衷和去中国的经历，现在她看着我们拍下的过往录像，感动得要下泪，她是挪威后裔第三代美国人，她丈夫马克是法国后裔，一个具有无限爱心的家庭，小男孩Jude 在这个美丽小城长大，还有两个相亲相爱的小哥哥小姐姐，我们的心也被融化。见到了华裔男孩子，又高又大，才十二岁不到十三岁，是个体育健儿，我们照下他和他亲爱的小哥哥索亚合影，小姐姐参加朋友聚会，爸爸有事在外未能见到，晚上我们请他们吃饭，小朋友选了日本餐厅。</p>
