<p class="ql-block">《苦难的影》</p><p class="ql-block">《In the Shadow of Affliction》</p><p class="ql-block">于2015</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">Many a time an affliction has afflicted me from my youth,</p><p class="ql-block">yet it has not prevailed against me.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">It looks like plowers have plowed upon my back</p><p class="ql-block">with long, deep furrows.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">It is vain to rise up early,</p><p class="ql-block">to sit up late.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">The sky is as a dark curtain,</p><p class="ql-block">and the earth—every corner filled with storms of dust.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">I wandered in darkness and the wilderness</p><p class="ql-block">in a solitary way,</p><p class="ql-block">finding no light ahead.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">I watch,</p><p class="ql-block">as a sparrow alone upon the housetop,</p><p class="ql-block">no food and no water on every side,</p><p class="ql-block">no clue where to fly next.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">As far as the east is from the west,</p><p class="ql-block">so far is hope away from me.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">I reel to and fro,</p><p class="ql-block">and stagger like a drunken man.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">The obstacles mount up to heaven,</p><p class="ql-block">the fortunate go down to the depths:</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">My soul is melted because of all the straits.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">How is the soul escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers?</p><p class="ql-block">How is the mouth filled with laughter,</p><p class="ql-block">the tongue full of singing,</p><p class="ql-block">and the lips shown with mirth?</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">When shall he who sows in tears reap in joy?</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">My heart is not haughty,</p><p class="ql-block">nor mine eyes lofty;</p><p class="ql-block">neither do I exercise myself in great matters.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">Where shall I go from the evil spirit?</p><p class="ql-block">Or where shall I flee from its presence?</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">If I ascend up into heaven, it is there;</p><p class="ql-block">if I make my bed in hell, it is there.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">If I take the wings of the wind,</p><p class="ql-block">and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;</p><p class="ql-block">Even there shall its hand be upon me.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">Search me and know my heart;</p><p class="ql-block">try me and know my thoughts,</p><p class="ql-block">and see if there be any wicked way in me,</p><p class="ql-block">and lead me in the way everlasting.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">Let evils be as the grass upon the housetops,</p><p class="ql-block">which withers before it grows up.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">Lift them up to the clouds,</p><p class="ql-block">and cast them down to hell.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">Because they shed innocent blood,</p><p class="ql-block">even the blood of the poor and needy,</p><p class="ql-block">and the land is polluted with bloody blood.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">Cause me to hear the lovingkindness in the morning;</p><p class="ql-block">cause me to know the way wherein I should walk.</p><p class="ql-block">-</p><p class="ql-block">A lamp shall be unto my feet,</p><p class="ql-block">and a light shall be unto my path.</p>
