<p class="ql-block">From Doha at 02:45am local time, to Melbourne 11:10pm, also local time, adding 7 hours time zone difference, it is almost a whole day’s trip, by earth time. </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p> <p class="ql-block">Night view of the Doha airport. </p> <p class="ql-block">Fast forward to catch the first glimpse of the sun light. The time difference from the airport view, <span style="font-size:18px;">clock time,</span> was only 1 hour.</p> <p class="ql-block">What an impressive sunrise. Unfortunately, only the pilot could enjoy it. </p> <p class="ql-block">Approaching the Arabian sea. I noted the Google Maps’ time was 5:02am. Does that mean that my phone could automatically adjust to local time, even it was up in the sky without mobile or wifi connection?</p> <p class="ql-block">Fast approaching day time. </p> <p class="ql-block">Now Google Maps had gone mad, sending our plane to the Gulf of Guinea. Time was 1:00pm.</p> <p class="ql-block">Shortly I took this photo with my phone. The time was 5:17pm. So Google Maps in this area didn’t know its location, nor the time. </p> <p class="ql-block">The cabin had been dark all the time. I was afraid I could disturb other people by opening the . I opened it only when it turned dark outside. </p> <p class="ql-block">Eventually Google Maps realised we were in Australia, but its time still lagged a few hours behind.</p> <p class="ql-block">I was so happy to see this familiar land. </p> <p class="ql-block">I drove through this land multiple times, memory was fresh. </p> <p class="ql-block">Quickly we approached sunset time.</p> <p class="ql-block">A perfect sunset. </p> <p class="ql-block">The “rivers” below. They would fill with water only during the flooding times. </p> <p class="ql-block">I swapped to Telstra SIM card, and soon received Telstra’s message. But there was no normal mobile connection. </p> <p class="ql-block">I noted most flight attendants didn’t cover their heads, and hey looked eastern Asians. One Korean <span style="font-size:18px;">attendant </span>told me, the airline didn’t require them to wear head scarf. </p> <p class="ql-block">It was 9pm local time, we were above <span style="font-size:18px;">Eyre</span> <span style="font-size:18px;">Peninsula</span>. Outside was dark, I could see almost nothing, but my 3 years old phone could see much more than I did. </p> <p class="ql-block">A smooth flight. We arrived home shortly after 1am.</p> <p class="ql-block">Glad to be at home. Home, sweet home. There is no place better than home. </p>
