水面荡漾着美丽的涟漪，

像花儿朵朵盛开。

水面闪烁着耀眼的波光，

像阳光亲吻着它。

水面有一个倒立的人影，

鱼用尾与它嬉戏。

影子在水里沉沉浮浮，

一会儿长，一会儿短，一会儿破碎。

我忍不住笑了，笑那精灵般的影子东倒西歪，

我也笑鱼儿真傻，它触碰不到柔软的影子。

我抛下了一块土坷垃，像是抛下了一颗炸弹，

不见了波光，不见了鱼儿和影子。

它们不见了踪影，去了另一个世界？

我的灵魂突然消失，在移动的脚步中惆怅不已。

Like blossoms blooming in grace.

Glittering waves dance with light,

As though kissed by the sun so bright.

A figure stands upside-down below,

Teased by fish tails in a playful show.

The shadow bobs, now long, now slight,

Now shattered—a fleeting sight.

I laugh at the sprite’s drunken sway,

And the fish, so foolish, lunging in vain.

I hurl a clod—a bomb’s descent—

Gone: the light, the fish, the shadow’s glint.

Vanished without a trace, away they flee—

To another world? Or eternity?

My soul, too, fades with each step I tread,

Leaving but sorrow in its stead.

Zhuang Shen, a Chinese writer and poet (majoring in Industrial and Civil Engineering), serves as the Vice Chairman of the Changzhou Civil Engineering Society. He is among China's first batch of nationally certified supervision engineers, a corporate chairman, a former member of the Wujin City (District) Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and a member of the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party.

Beginning his literary career in the fourth year of his retirement, he has authored the novels *Roots* and *Veins*, the poetry collection *Darling, Let’s Go Autumn Walking*, and the TV series script *Roots*. A film adaptation of his novel *Roots* is set to begin production this year.

Since 2020, he has devoted himself to poetry writing, composing over 3,000 poems, with nearly 200 published in various literary journals.
