<font color="#ed2308">On 17th December 2024, the eighth and final event of the English Corner for the Autumn Semester 2024 took place at Shanghai University of Engineering Science Hongkou campus and it was Christmas.</font> <font color="#ed2308">This particular venue has served as the location for numerous events in the past. It's a space that has witnessed a fair share of gatherings and activities. However, it was quite disheartening to note that during this instance, the number of students in attendance was disappointingly low.<br>Despite the lackluster turnout of first year students, let's now take a detailed look at the sequence of activities that unfolded during the event. This exploration will not only help us understand how the event progressed but also potentially identify areas that could be improved for future occasions.</font> <font color="#ed2308">At the very start, Johnson initiated the event by delivering a brief yet informative lecture about Christmas. He delved into its historical roots, the significance of various traditions, and the cultural impact it has had around the world. This was followed by a quiz that aimed to test the students' existing knowledge about this festive season. It was fascinating for Johnson to witness the range of responses, from the well - known facts to some rather interesting and unexpected answers, which led to engaging discussions and a deeper exploration of the subject matter.</font> <font color="#ed2308">Afterwards, Johnson encouraged the students to tap into their creative side and create some charming Christmas - themed items. They crafted beautiful stars that seemed to twinkle with a festive glow, origami balloons that added a touch of whimsy, adorable Santa faces that brought a jolly presence, and delicate holly leaves that lent an air of authenticity to the overall decorations.
