<p class="ql-block">A Taste of China 中国味道</p><p class="ql-block">(个人翻译,不当之处,欢迎指正。)</p> While travelling across China, I'm starting to realise that its variety of food is as vast as its land. <div>在周游中国的过程中,我开始意识到中国的美食种类就如同她的国土一般广博。<br><div>Different regions in China have different cooking styles and unique dishes. </div><div>在中国,不同的地区有着不同的烹饪风格及独特菜肴。</div><div>In Beijing, one such dish is the world-famous Beijing duck. <br></div><div>在北京, 有这样一道特色菜便是世界著名的北京烤鸭。</div><div>Now I've heard that a good Beijing duck should be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. </div><div>如今,我还得知,一道好的北京烤鸭需要做得外脆里嫩。</div><div>Let's try it and see...Now that is delicious! <br></div><div>让我们去一探究竟......如今(尝来)真是太美味了!</div><div>The duck is juicy, and it goes really well with the pancakes and the sweet sauce. </div><div>烤鸭多汁,带点甜酱、包在面皮儿里真是绝配。</div><div>I know I shouldn't, but I would really like to eat it all!<br>我知道我不应该但我真想把它全部吃光。</div><div>Now I'm on my way to try <i>dazhaxie</i>, which is strongly recommended by my friends. </div><div>现在,我要赶去尝一尝大闸蟹,这是我朋友们强烈推荐的一道菜。</div><div>Now I've heard that this dish has been on Chinese menus since the Han Dynasty. <br></div><div>如今,我还听说这道菜出现在中国的菜单上是从汉朝开始。</div><div>But its translation "hairy crab"doesn't make it sound like something delicious!<br>但是,这道菜的“毛蟹”翻译使得它听起来不像是一道美食。</div><div>Now I've been told that the best way to cook <i>dazhaxie</i>, is to steam it to keep its original flavour. </div><div>今天我被告知烹饪大闸蟹最好的方式是清蒸,以保持其原汁原味。</div><div>Ah-here it is. I'm not sure how to eat it! </div><div>啊-菜上来了!我不确定该如何吃这玩意儿!</div><div>Oh-that was surprisingly good. </div><div>嗷-真是出奇的好吃。</div><div>I have to say, my friends were right!</div><div>我不得不说,我朋友们的推荐是对的。<br>Now it's now time for something hot and spicy. </div><div>现在,是时间去吃点热辣的东西了。</div><div>What else but Sichuan hot pot! Come on! </div><div>没有啥比得上四川火锅了!我们走起!</div><div>About 200 years ago, people in Sichuan began to cook what they could find with chillies and spices in a pot, and that is believed to be the first Sichuan hot pot.</div><div>约两百年前,四川人开始把他们所能找到的食物拌着辣椒和香料一起放到一口锅里煮,而这被认为是最早的四川火锅。</div><div>Now, I'm about to try it to see why it is popular all over the country.</div><div>现在,我要去一尝究竟--为什么火锅在全国如此受欢迎。<br>Wow, that is hot! It's tasty, but eating it is a challenge. </div><div>哇呜,好辣!美味可口,不过吃这个的确是场挑战。</div><div>My mouth is on fire!
