故今日之责任，

不在他人，而全在少年。

Therefore, today's duty,not on others, but on teenagers.

少年智则国智，

If the teenager is wise,

Then China will be wise,

少年富则国富，

If the teenager is rich,

Then China will be rich,

少年强则国强，

If the teenager is great,

Then China will be great,

少年独立则国独立，

If the teenager is independent,

Then China will be independent,

少年自由则国自由，

If the teenager is free,

Then China will be free;

少年进步则国进步，

If the teenager makes progress,

Then China will make progress;

少年胜于欧洲则国胜于欧洲，

If the teenager is better than Europe,

Then China will be better than Europe;

少年雄于地球则国雄于地球。

If the teenager is the best on the earth,

Then China will be the best on the earth.

红日初升，其道大光。

The morning sun rising in the east,

Sunny and light.

河出伏流，一泻汪洋。

The Yellow River flowing to the sea,

grand and sightly.

潜龙腾渊，鳞爪飞扬。

Diving Dragons leap from water deep,

Its scales and claws dancing and flighting.

乳虎啸谷，百兽震惶.

The little tiger howling in the valley,

and all the beasts are frightened.

鹰隼试翼，风尘翕张。

The eagle and the falcon flapping their wings,

and the wind and dust roll in height.

奇花初胎，矞矞皇皇。

Flowers buds just begin to breed,

lush and bright.

干将发硎，有作其芒。

The sword sharpened on the hone gleaming,

and shines brightly.

天戴其苍，地履其黄。

The yellow earth under your feet,

The blue sky overhead right.

纵有千古，横有八荒。

Looking back ancient history

Long and splendid through seeing,

Vast and great across sighting.

前途似海，来日方长。

The future is as broad as sea,

There's still time to fight.

美哉，我少年中国，与天不老!

How grand!

My young China,

Live like Heaven with everlasting might!

壮哉，我中国少年，与国无疆!

How magnificent!

My Chinese Teenager,

With our motherland uniting! /
