The Daisies 

IN THE scented bud of the morning—O, 

When the windy grass went rippling far, 

I saw my dear one walking slow, 

In the field where the daisies are. 

We did not laugh and we did not speak 

As we wandered happily to and fro; 

I kissed my dear on either cheek, 

In the bud of the morning—O。

A lark sang up from the breezy land, 

A lark sang down from a cloud afar, 

And she and I went hand in hand 

In the field where the daisies are. 

雏菊

清晨的空气充溢着花香 — 哦，

风吹草儿，掀起一层层远去的波浪，

我看见亲爱的人儿独自缓缓地

走在那遍地雏菊的田野里。

我们没有嬉笑，没有说话，

James Stephens (1880 – 1950) is an Irish poet and novelist. His poems are marked by a rare combination of humor and lyricism. Stephens produced many retellings of Irish myths and fairy tales. Some of them are often specially praised and has achieved enduring popularity.
