It's a story about a man named Stingy Jack.</p><p class="ql-block">👶: Stingy Jack is bad because he does the tricks.</p><p class="ql-block">👩: How can you know that? Stingy Jack was notorious[noʊˈtɔːriəs] because he likes drinking and tricking.</p><p class="ql-block">One day Stingy Jack tricked Satan.</p><p class="ql-block">Do you know Satan? Satan was the devil and he is the chief spirit of evil.</p><p class="ql-block">Stingy Jack tricked Satan into climbing a tree, then he carved a cross on the trunk, not to let the devil down the tree. Then Jack made a deal with the devil, if he would never tempt诱惑 him again, he would promise the devil down the tree. After Jack died, he wasn't let to go into Heaven because of his evil, ways, but he was also denied拒绝 going into Hell地狱 because he had tricked the devil. But the devil gave hime a single ember余烬 to light his way in the dark. The ember was placed inside a hollowed-out turnip to keep it glowing longer.Jack was still walking with the lantern looking for a place to stay.</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">🌸<b>How to Make a Jack-O-Lantern</b></p><p class="ql-block">October 31 is the Halloween Eve. Families in some Western countries will start to decorate their home. The jack-O-lantern is one the most traditional celebration activities. So, do you know how to make the lantern? Let’s look at the following instructions which might help you.</p><p class="ql-block">1. Basic pumpkin carving kit: knife for removing the lid, scissors, felt-tip pen, scraper, two saws, drill, pointer.</p><p class="ql-block">南瓜雕刻基本工具：用来去掉南瓜顶的小刀，剪刀，粗签字笔，刮刀，两块锯片，锥子，钻孔器</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">2. Removing the lid. Trace a square or hexagon with a felt-tip pen along the top of the pumpkin, an inch or two from the stalk, and then cut along those lines with a sharp knife. Angle the knife slightly inwards: if you cut down vertically, the lid might fall into the pumpkin.</p><p class="ql-block">去掉南瓜顶。用粗签字笔在南瓜顶部划一个半径1到2英寸的方形或六角形，用锋利的刀片沿着画好的线切下去。让刀口有一定向内的角度——如果你垂直着切，顶部就会掉到南瓜里面。</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">3. Take your saw and cut along the lines through the flesh and into the pumpkin. Finish by very carefully trimming off the skin over your pattern.
