A brand new start for me 

I'm so happy to join the toastmasters club. I like this big family！At this moment I would like to thank the club officials. Special thanks to Jenny and Samantha.They encouraged me to join the club and gave me confidence to challenge myself. I have become a member of club today ．My dear friends,You must want to know who I am ,Let me tell you.

First, I am the grandmother of two grandchildren，I retired nine years ago ,before retire I was a doctor ,I also used to be a worker and a farmer. Do you think I’m special? Don't be surprised!This is me!

Each club member has a goal to improve communication and leadership skills, In order to advance in career. But I've finished my career．before I retire,I was a leader for 10 years.I have good leadership and communication skills Can you guess why I joined the club ?Because my son and two grandchildren live in the US ,If I don't improve my English how can I lead them? Especially grandchildren ，They will bully me if I don't know English ．Of course, It's just kidding!

I flew back to China from the US on New Year's Day this year. I was quarantined in Shanghai for 14 days，Last year on a special day I flew to America ,On that day,Wuhan was lockdown Because of the COVID-19 .I thought I had escaped epidemic . I was wrong ，Surprisingly, the epidemic in China was quickly controlled,But the United States was getting worse and worse.I was forced to stay in America for a year.

After many setbacks, I finally returned to China. Such experience makes me cherish good life even more ．I desire meaningful life even more. I've always wanted to be a member of club , Today my wish finally came true .I enjoy my time with you，You are young, energetic and ambitious ,You raise me up，You gave me a new sense of life.I learn from you, I hope I can improve myself in the club.I think such a life is more meaningful. joining club is a brand new start for me .

After I graduated from high school, I went to the countryside and became a farmer. When I was in the countryside ，I worked very hard ，When the opportunity came, I was recommended into the factory．After only ten months in the factory I became a college student again．Because I created possible for myself ,I took the college entrance examination

and got into medical college , I became a doctor after graduation.

I have been a doctor in Hubei for ten years

In 1993 I created possible for myself Again 

I came to the hot land of Shenzhen，I changed my job，Finally, in 1993, I came to Longgang Central Hospital．

In my opinion, creating possibilities depends on your own efforts

Persevere and you will be successful!

Dear friends ! Have you ever been to the Yangtze River? Have you ever seen the stormy waves of the Yangtze River?

I crossed the Yangtze River twice when I was young，This is true , I'm not making it up ,I can provide proof.

Speaking of swimming, I have an interesting story，When I was eight years old, one hot summer day, I passed the swimming pool with another kid carrying a bucket of ice-stick .This was our first time to the swimming pool. When we saw many kids playing in the pool, we could not help to join them. So we put down the bucket and jumped into the water. What happened? As you can imagine, A bucket of ice-stick all melted.

The bucket of ice-stick belonged to several families. They complained to my parents, but instead of blaming me, my parents told me that I must be careful if I want to go swimming and must tell them in advance.

My parents helped me find ing some older kids to teach me, After that, I began to learn swimming.I enjoyed swimming, so I learned it quickly . when I was nine years old I can swim ,Because I love it so much, I can swim three times a day .

In 1975, when I was in high school, huangshi City in Hubei Province organized a swimming across the Yangtze River In memory the ninth anniversary of Chairman MAO's swimming in the Yangtze River．In order to take part in this activity, 

our school selected a group of students for intensive training, I failed the test by only a few minutes．

I didn’t learn from a

professional trainer, so my skill wasn't good enough and I wasn't fast enough. Later I reached my PE teacher who was in charge of the training and I expressed my passion and how eager I want to join the group. He was kind enough to make an exception for me to attend the training. 

In the training, everyone has to do four laps around the lake every afternoon. Everyday when the training finishes. I stayed longer to improve my skill,So I had to spend more time than anyone else. It was really hard, and you must to do training for a long period of time. 

Whenever I lose confidence, my teacher always encourages me: persevere and you will be successful!

So I didn't give up，Finally ，My skill improved And I was fast enough.

As my teacher told me, persevere and you will be successful !

In 1975 and 1976, I successfully crossed the Yangtze River twice.

In fact ,to be successful ,You must have a lot of passions ．But only passion is not enough, You have to keep doing ,so when you want to succeed at something, persevere and you will be successful!

What is the most important thing in my life?

Actually, I don't think only one thing is the most important in a person's life

In my opinion,there are different important things at different stages of life

when you are a student，

Study is the most important thing 

When you graduate, finding a job is the most important thing

when you're getting married，

Maybe the house is the most important thing

When you have kids, educating them becomes the most important thing

If you don't study hard when you are a student, maybe you won't have a better future.

If you don't work after graduation，Who will feed you？

If you get married without a house, will you feel lost?

The child did not educate well, can become your burden

So I think the most important thing in life is to do the right thing at the corresponding stage.

thinking about the The rou jia mo of my hometown ，Why am I crying？

I'm a security guard at people's houses, but I can't go home ，I miss my parents in my hometown

My parents brought me up, they are very hard, so I want to give them a better life.

I came to Shenzhen from Tongguan last year ，How homesick I am when Spring Festival is coming，But,In order to have more income, I stayed in Shenzhen this Spring Festival，I will use the money I earn to honor my parents.

Although I am still only a security guard, my ideal is to be a singer like Andy Lau．

I'm learning vocal music in my spare time ．I think as long as I persist, my dream will come true

Although I will cry when I am homesick, I am not afraid of being tired for my dream！

One day, a student who was learning English accidentally stepped on a foreigner's foot，He immediately apologized to the foreigner：

Whether electric cars reduce carbon emissions ?

In many countries,governments encourage people to by electric cars,Why government support electric cars ？Have you thought about that?

Who can answer this question？

The answer is that electric cars reduce carbon emissions．

Is that right？

But new research shows.

In some countries, electric cars emit more carbon gas than gasoline cars. such as Poland and Kosovo.

Why ？What's the reason?

compared the carbon emissions caused by driving a gasoline car and charging an electric car for the same distance.

Different cars drive the same distance，Which reduces carbon emissions ?

The answer is Different countries have different results．

Electric cars in some countries emit less carbon than gasoline cars

They are Switzerland, Norway ,France ,Sweden ,

Austria 

These countries use a lot of nuclear and hydroelectric power.

Germany and Spain create a lot of electricity from the sun and wind. But the sun and wind do not add to a country's electric system equally throughout the day.

For this reason, the amount of carbon emissions depends on the time ，Charging in the afternoon, there is more sun and wind, saves 16 to 18 percent carbon than at night when electric systems are more likely to be using gas or coal.

Why electric cars in Poland and Kosovo have higher carbon emissions than gasoline cars?

because their electric systems depend so much on coal. Coal-fired power produces more carbon emissions.

Carbon emissions from electric cars depend on the energy supply to the electric system.

Nuclear power, solar power, wind power and hydropower are all clean energy sources with low carbon emissions

Coal ,oil, gas, produce a lot of carbon emissions during their use.

If a country uses nuclear power and hydroelectric power ,electric cars reduce carbon emissions.

If a country uses wind power and solar power, The amount of carbon emissions of electric cars depend on when they changed．

If a country uses coal for electricity, Electric cars

increase carbon emissions.

whether electric cars are actually greener depends on where the electricity comes from.

2021年12月31日，跨年聚餐

Today is the last day of the year, Happy New Year to you in advance！At this time last year, I was on a plane ,I flew back from America, I spent a year in America looking after my two grandchildren. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic，

I had to stayed at home every day, there was no communication with the outside world，I felt like last year was so slow.After coming back,life was different

I took part in many activities. Such as Singing, swimming panting and traveling. 

I went back to my hometown to visit my relatives, friends, teachers, classmates and old colleagues. Life becomes colorful，Especially after joining the club，I became very busy，But I feel life is more meaningful . I learned a lot from you ，I feel very happy．I'm getting younger and younger with you guys．

I'm going to keep getting younger next year，So I will attend club meetings as much as possible，I will continue to follow you step by step，to Improve myself.
