Dragon Boat Festival <p class="ql-block">  The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the four traditional Chinese festivals celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month to commemorate the great poet Qu Yuan.</p> <p class="ql-block">  Qu Yuan was a famous poet and statesman of the State of Chu during the Warring States Period.During his time as an official,he was sidelined and slandered nobles,so he was exiled.Later,the state of Chu was destroyed by the state of Qin,and Qu Yuan threw himself into the Miluo River and died for his country.</p> <p class="ql-block">  In order to prevent the fish from eating Qu Yuan’s body,people in dragon boats threw zongzi into the Miluo River to protect Qu Yuan’s body.So every year on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month,people eat zongzi and hold dragon races to commemorate the great poet Qu Yuan .</p>
