It was given to the</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="color: rgb(32, 33, 34);">University of Sydney in the name of the then Governor of New South Wales on</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="color: rgb(32, 33, 34);">behalf of Queen Victoria.</span></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p> <p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="color: rgb(32, 33, 34);">The official scepter scepter is carried by the Esquire Bedell , a junior ceremonial office of the University, in the entry and exit of the graduation ceremony and other official ceremonies, the scepter leads the procession.</span></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p> <p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="color: rgb(32, 33, 34);">The whole ceremony was full of ritual .</span></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p> <p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="color: rgb(32, 33, 34);">The bell of the clock tower sounded slowly</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="color: rgb(32, 33, 34);">and steadily, resounding through the University of Sydney.
