She won the Best Actress Oscar in 1954 for her role in "Roman Holiday." In his later years, he devoted himself to charity and was a representative of UNICEF goodwill Ambassadors. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992 and the Humanitarian Oscar in 1993. She died of cancer on January 20, 1993, at the age of 63. In 1999, she was named the third greatest Actress of the last 100 years by the American Film Institute</p>
