Sci-fi writers give us different answers. American writer Isaac Asimov wrote the book I, Robot in 1950. In his story, robots aren’t <span style="color: rgb(176, 79, 187);">scary</span>.</p><p>In the story, a mother buys a robot called “Robbie” to<span style="color: rgb(176, 79, 187);"> look after</span> her daughter, Gloria. The girl quickly <span style="color: rgb(176, 79, 187);">makes friends with</span> the robot. But when other people turn <span style="color: rgb(176, 79, 187);">against</span> (反对) robots, Gloria’s mother takes Robbie away. Gloria gets very <span style="color: rgb(176, 79, 187);">sad</span>. Her parents are <span style="color: rgb(176, 79, 187);">worried</span> about her. They take Gloria to a robot factory. They want Gloria to see that robots are just <span style="color: rgb(176, 79, 187);">made of</span> metal (金属) so she won’t care about them so much anymore.</p><p>In the robot factory, Gloria sees Robbie and runs to him. But she runs in the way of a vehicle (车辆). Robbie saves Gloria. Gloria’s mother sees Robbie is <span style="color: rgb(176, 79, 187);">good for</span> Gloria, and the family takes Robbie back home with them.</p><p>In I, Robot, Asimov wrote about a friendly robot. He also made three laws (法则) for robots. First, robots <span style="color: rgb(176, 79, 187);">should</span> never <span style="color: rgb(176, 79, 187);">hurt</span> humans. Second, robots <span style="color: rgb(176, 79, 187);">must</span> always listen to humans’ orders (命令). Third, robots should protect themselves they don’t hurt humans. </p> <p><b style="font-size: 20px; color: rgb(176, 79, 187);">About the writer</b></p><p>Isaac Asimov (1920-1992) was a biochemistry (生物化学) teacher at a university before he started writing. He loved science very much. In his books, we often see robots with high artificial intelligence (人工智能).
