As known by many people RAD exam result can be used towards the points tariff when applying to a relevant course at a university or higher education. This article will explain how we can use RAD ballet exam results effectively for university application in the UK. 

英国皇家舞蹈学院(Royal Academy of Dance)是全球最具权威性的舞蹈教育学府之一，其考级体系为古典芭蕾舞教育确立了标准。

Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the world’s most renowned dance education organizations. RAD exams are setting standards in classical ballet.

英皇等级考试是英国资格和考试管理局认证(Ofqual)的考试体系，在全球具有公信力，考试成绩得到海外高校的普遍认可。全球每年近30万名考生按照英国皇家舞蹈学院编写的教学大纲进行考试。英皇的六级及以上的考试成绩可以在UCAS中折算A-Level (GCE) 分数。

RAD exams are recognized by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). Each year, more than 250,000 candidates across the globe choose to take RAD exams. The exam results are recognized by universities throughout the world, especially in the Commonwealth, and contribute toward UCAS points.

Universities and Colleges Admissions Service简称UCAS，为英国大学和院校招生事务处，它是学生与所申请大学之间的纽带，在英国几乎所有的大学都是UCAS的成员。（英格兰335家、苏格兰21家、北爱尔兰4家、威尔士19家、其他地区8家）不论英国本土学生还是海外留学生，必须要通过UCAS才能申报其成员体系内的院校。

UCAS stands for “Universities and Colleges Admissions Service” – it is an organization responsible for managing applications to higher education courses in the UK. Almost all applications to the universities in the UK (335 in England, 21 in Scotland, 4 in Northern Ireland, 19 in Wales and 8 in other areas) are managed through UCAS.

The General Certificate of Education Advanced Level，简称GCE A-Level或A-Level，是学生完成12-13年级的2年制大学预科学业后，由英国（不包括苏格兰）或英国海外属地教育部颁发的的普通中等教育文凭，学生可以在2年内修3个或3个以上的A-Level，完成学业后，可以选择报考大学，继续深造，培训或者应聘工作。A-Level的考试成绩是高校录取学生最重要的参考条件。

Advanced level qualifications (known as A-Level) are subject-based qualifications that can lead to university, further study, training, or work. Students can normally study three or more A levels over two years. They’re usually assessed by a series of examinations.

学生结束2年的A-Level学习后，在期末考试前通过UCAS线上系统申报大学和专业，UCAS收集志愿后转发给申报院校，院校以A-Level、GCSE、以及课外活动成绩为依据筛选有资格入学的学生。通过英皇芭蕾六级及以上等级考试的孩子，可以在UCAS线上系统根据考级成绩为标准折算A-Level 分数。

After two years of A-Level study, students can apply to university through UCAS. UCAS points can be gained by different qualifications, including A-levels, BTECs and the International Baccalaureate, amongst others. Candidates who have achieved a “Pass” or higher Grade in RAD Ballet Grades 6, 7, 8, Intermediate or Advanced Foundation, can use their RAD exam result towards their points tariff.

Students who have passed RAD ballet exams at grade 6 level or above can get extra UCAS points to improve their total points, helping them to a better position in the university application competition.

We encourage children to learn RAD Ballet, but not just to receive extra UCAS points. Utmost care to our students' physical and mental development is always the at Renee Arts Dance Education. When we introduced RAD classes at the Center, we also applied for the RAD's Teachers guide to ensure students' safety during training in every class. The guide gives specific and detailed guidance on training children at different ages based on decades of scientific research.
