今天有朋友在微信贴出刘墉在纽约低调嫁女，有15条恋爱叮咛，真是说到了我们当父母的心坎里。 鉴于我闺女中文水平读不了这样的好文章，只好这当妈的帮她翻译出来，等她再长大一些给她看。 其实这个翻译在原文基础上稍有添减，融入了一些我想跟闺女说的话。 在美篇留文保存，静等闺女长大。

1.  You can let people know you are single, but don't fully spread yourself under the sun too soon.  Let him discover your many wonders one by one.  A level of mystery always fuels love.   Discoveries of each other’s new qualities are valuable catalysts for love.

Men and women are equal, therefore he doesn't always have to pay.  It's perfectly OK to take turns or pitch in from time to time.  You may learn a lot about his character in the situations where you are paying.  A man who cares about you would purposefully limit the spending when it's your turn to pay.

When you go on a first date, let him know what time you want to be home.  Then see if he keeps your plan in mind.  He can show his respect and his self-discipline by minding your time limits even when he doesn't want an enjoyable evening to end.  Having control over the time duration of a date is also a reflection of a girl’s decency and up-bringing.

Always use protection no matter how passionate and heated a moment gets.  Never pose for nude photos no matter how great a guy he is and how stable your relationship seems to be.  Once a nude photo is taken, it's out of your hands. 11. Never use your body to win love.  Your body should only be set free for love that you are already sure about.  

12. Unless you want to be intimate, you should fend off early on any verbal or physical sexual insinuations.  Don't wait till he drops his pants before you scream NO. 

13. If a family member calls you during your date, remember to always be nice to your family member.  Being impatient and not nice to your loved ones in front of your date is a sure way for him to lose his respect for you.  

14. Lower your voice in public.  Be nice to service people.  Be nice to the handicapped and people who need assistance.  Be tolerant. Put on a smile. Do not procrastinate when efficiency is needed, but do not rush when care and depth are needed.   How you treat other people and handle problems shows your character and grace.  

15. Never date multiple people at the same time.  Get off one boat before getting on another.  Having your feet in two boats will always drop you in the water.
