<h3>In celebration of the Chinese New Year, on <b>Saturday February 10, 2018</b>, "Claire's Piano Studio" is presenting a "<b>Chinese Youth Piano Concert.</b>" We sincerely invite you and your family to join us and share the feast of music! This special piano concert showcases 12 pieces of Chinese folk music performed by 14 talented students from "Claire's Piano Studio." It is a perfect fusion of Chinese folk music and western instrument piano! Some pieces will tell you a Chinese folk story, some paint beautiful pictures, and some may even bring you to China! Throughout the concert, piano teacher Ms. Claire Huang will present a short background story and historical sources for each piece of music. What a great opportunity to learn Chinese culture! All proceeds from concert ticket sales will be donated to the Stollery Children's Hospital, which supports our community. Please come to join us. She got second place in National Final of Canadian Music Competition when she was 9 years old. In 2017, Kiana passed RCM level 10 piano repertoire exam. From 2011 till present, she has achieved 1st place and scholarships in Kiwanis Music Festival and Alberta College Music Festival multiple times.</h3><h3><br /></h3><h3><b><i>Rachel Miao</i></b>, 11 years old, has been learning piano from Ms. Claire Huang at age 5. She participated in the Canadian Music Competition in 2017 and she was first place winner in the 10 and Under category of the Edmonton area to enter the national finalist. In 2016, she participated in the Fall Music Festival and was awarded the scholarship. On the same year, she completed RCM level 8 exam. In 2015, she got first place in the 9 and Under category at Kiwanis Music Festival.</h3><h3><b><i><br /></i></b></h3><h3><b><i>Kevin Ruixuan Lu</i></b>, 9 years old, has been learning piano from Ms. Claire Huang for two and half years. He got first place in 8 years and under, and first place in 10 years and under in Alberta College Music Festival in 2016 and 2017, respectively. For that, he received the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Scholarship in two continuous years. He was also invited to perform in 2017 Awards Recital as the highest mark in RCM6 piano exam organized by Alberta Registered Music Teachers' Association. <br /></h3><h3><br /></h3><h3><b><i>Nicholas Wang, </i></b>13 years old, is intelligent and loves music. He started learning piano with Mrs.Huang at the age of nine and completed RCM level 8 in just two years. Nicholas played parts of RCM level 10 in three years.<br /></h3><h3><br /></h3><h3><b><i>JiaKai Wen</i></b>, 15 years old, has been studying piano for 5 years. He completed RCM level 10 piano practical and theory in 2017 and recently began studying for his ARCT in piano performance. He has competed in many competitions such as the 2016 Fall Music Festival where he placed 1st in Chopin, 14 years and under, and again in 2017 Fall Music Festival, where he placed 1st in Beethoven, 15 years and under. Besides piano, JiaKai also enjoys playing sports such as badminton and also enjoys woodworking.</h3><h3><br /></h3><h3><b><i>Irene Ji,</i></b> 9 years old, started learning piano from Ms.Huang at the age of 6. She was awarded the Certificate of Outstanding Achievement for the RCM level 6 exam at age 8. Irene got first and second places in 8 years and under at the Alberta College Music Festival in 2016.</h3><h3><br /></h3><h3><b><i>Priscilla Dai,</i></b> 9 years old, started her group piano lesson at 5, then joined Ms. Claire Huangs program a year later. After a few years of comprehensive learning and practice, she successfully passed RCM 6 exam with high marks and received a Certificate of Outstanding Achievement from Alberta Registered Music Teachers Association in 2017.
